Poor design

There are just a lot of issues with the design. There are so many surfaces inside the tank, lid and brewing area means that there is a ton of leftover water after a pot has been made and consumed. I don't want mold growing in my pot, so I have to clean that up. Also the way top of the pot overlaps it and it's large opening often causes water/coffee to slop onto the counter, especially towards the end of the pot when it needs to be tilted more. I don't mean because I was careless, it's just poorly designed. The side opening lid was awful as well. I'm not left handed, but it still made it awkward when loading the machine. Also, the machine was deeper and stuck out from the back of the counter more. A greatest problem, I felt, was the overall bad design of the pot. Aside from the issue with the lid, the handle only being attached at the top made it feel weak and unstable. My old machine had a pot with similar thin glass, but the handle always felt firm and I never worried about anything happening. What I didn't see coming was that when I was drying the pot, 8 days after purchase, the torque on the band attaching the handle just from a gentle drying caused the pot to break. My first thought was to get a replacement caraf, but on further consideration I'm just going to junk it and find a different brand to buy.

DOES THE JOB FOR THE PRICE

I BOUGHT THIS ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO IT DOES WHAT ITS SUPPOSE TO DO MAKE COFFEE NOT WAKE YOU UP IN THE MORNING OR BREW IT BY ITS SELF LIKE THE WATER FILTER FEATURE ONLY THING I DONT LIKE IS NOT POWERING ITS SELF OFF AFTER AWHILE WAS SO USE OF THAT ON MY OLD ONE FOR GOT TO CUT IT OFF THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES AND STAYED ON FOR AWHILE WITH NO COFFEE IN POT LUCKY IT DIDNT SHATTER POT
I would recommend this to a friend!

Broken lid

The lid broke when I tried to take it off to clean it. I've only had it a couple of weeks. My previous off brand coffee maker lid lasted years. What a disappointment.

Disappointed

As the phrase goes: you get what you pay for. I've always like my previous Mr. Coffee makers even though they leak when you pull out the carafe and it damages the hot plate and it burns off the color. This new one is nice and very sleek; HOWEVER, the lid edges to the carafe is very deep on the sides and condensation remains there. The water is VERY HOT. When you tilt the pot to pour, water (a lot) spills so you need to put the pot on an absorbent towel, lift the lid carefully, and let the condensation pour out onto a towel and then you can pour the coffee. Trying to find instructions for the machine is mindboggling! Cutting costs of instruction books? OK, they are basically all the same to clean; however, you cannot read the serial number on the bottom of a black machine. Thankfully I photographed the bottom of the box with the model number. THIS is my LAST Mr. Coffee maker.

this coffee pot sucks !

I have gotten Mr. Coffee - Mr. Coffee® 12-Cup Coffeemaker (white) and ever since I got it , it makes my cups of coffee oily , I changed the water to bottled , it did the same thing , and then I thought it was the coffee , and so I bought a new can coffee , So Its this stupid coffee maker , I had only had it for a month and I am so disappointed .

Oily coffee can be caused by the coffee grounds themselves, or by a coffee maker that needs to be cleaned. Try cleaning the coffee maker with a vinegar solution if it hasn't been cleaned recently or check the recommended cleaning schedule and procedures. Some coffees are naturally more oily than others.

Glass pot $ rust

I have had this mr coffee. Almost 5 months. This morning I was pouring the coffee - the handle came apart from the pot & breaking the glass. I have had mr coffee makers in the past this never happened. The heating plate has always rusted, I wipe it dry after each use is this normal?

Mixed Review - Lid Broke

The price is certainly right on this item, and it brews a good pot of coffee. Two criticisms. First, a couple of times the feature has not worked where you can grab a cup of coffee mid brew, and it is poured hot coffee all over my hand. Secondly, the plastic lid broke almost on the day it arrived. I have searched for hours online, with no replacement found, using the actual serial number, image search, etc. Could you please send me a replacement lid?
