I purchased two Turcotte chairs last week. So far my son really enjoys the chair for his study time. I had guests on Sunday and they enjoyed the chairs. In fact one guest asked for the purchasing information so that they could get one for their home...sounds like the chairs are real winners to me!
I need a new chair. My old one's arm starts separating itself from the back. The seat has no more cushions. I researched quite a bit before setting down on this chair. It comes with a 5-year warranty and the reviews are very good. DELIVERY It was ordered on Friday afternoon and delivered next Monday. Amazing service!!! The box is about 2.5 ft high and 3 feet wide. It's quite heavy. There are some cuts on the external box. But there are no internal bruise or cuts. ASSEMBLY The instructions are clear and all necessary tools are included. It's very easy to put the chair together. During assembly you can tell that the material used is really tough. It's definitely built to last. Total time spent should be less than 30 minutes. CONSTRUCTION All materials are new. The craftmanship is great! There are no tearing seam nor were there any cuts. I really feel that the chair is very strong and built to last. USABILITY The cushion on the seat is good quality. However the back is a bit thin. The arm rest has great feeling on the top with enough padding. It's also very strong that it can support your body weight. Yes I tried. :) The back is pretty straight. Unlike the other chairs I have tried and used. I really like the straight back. Why? When you lean back all the other office chairs does not support your back well. This one does. When you lean back to rest your upper back is supported. The lower back does not have enough lumbar support for my liking. I have a 4 bucks lumbar support on my old chair I just use it to add enough support. The roller / wheel is made for rolling on carpet. The pneumatic seat height and tilt works well. The lowest allows my feet to stay on the floor. I am 5'10. When shifting up to the heigest it's quite comfortable sitting in front of my computer desk. Overall I really like the chair and I am confident it will last for years to come.
I absolutely hate to put things together. Those "stereo" instructions. Put part A into part C subset of parts xxx and yyy. Not with this chair! Some incredibly smart person labeled the parts and the components. Each set of screws are put in a sealed bag and labeled with the part and step number. This is the only item I have ever put together without cussing!
