Purchased this one to replace an older model we were given. This one is slightly smaller than the first one, but it is fine for making Panini sandwiches. The eat seems to be even. Use the highest setting for the Paninis though. We haven't used it as a flat griddle yet, but Ifeel it will be just fine form making smaller pancakes.

I compared the sizes and features of all the Griddler models and decided to try the Compact. I was so happy when I saw the size of it - just right for 1 or 2 people. I was more excited when I tried it for the first time for a grilled cheese and a turkey burger and both turned out perfectly cooked. I was able to cook 2 sandwiches with it closed, but was pleased to see it can also be used open. It is so easy to remove the plates and the drip tray to clean up. I’m very happy with my choice and would recommend this model without hesitation.
