[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a beautiful machine. From the way it looks and works you can tell it is a well thought out, quality product. It’s has well made buttons. Which may seem odd to say but it’s something that is often made cheeper and shows how every part of the machine has been payed attention to. It took me about an hour to clean and set up the machine out of the box. And about 4 or 5 drinks to get it how I wanted it. After this first time investment, now I just use 2 movements and press one button to have really yummy coffee. I found it very customizable, lovely to look at, easy to use and clean. It’s also very handy to have on hand to offer guests coffee, tea, americano, latte, espresso or cappuccino and have one in just a few minutes. As a toddler mother that currently needs caffeine to manage work and home I would not want to not have this machine in my life. Could not recommend more.

Beautiful easy consistent espresso machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ever since the De'Longhi La Specialista Prestigio Espresso Machine came in, my husband and I use it every single day. It was very easy to set up and after a few espressos, using it became second nature. In the span of about five minutes I can make a single shot americano or latte for myself and a double shot espresso for my husband (who always remarks that the crema is beautiful). The built-in tamper makes drinks quick, neat, and consistent. The frothing wand is easy to use and the hot water spout is great for making tea at the perfect temperature. We have even used it to make hot chocolate for our daughter (who was very excited to have a frothed drink like mommy). This machine is easy to clean and has replaced a top brand espresso machine that we were using before. We love that it has a built-in grinder since my husband roasts our coffee and we always use whole beans. I would recommend this to anyone who drinks specialty coffee and likes having a great consistent cup every time.

Espresso machine to rival the pros

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first impression of the De'Longhi La Specialista Prestigio Espresso Machine was that it was too good to be true and the parts were too flashy to be durable. However, I found by using it that this couldn't be more wrong. The machine is very impressive looking with controls and lighted indicators that look like something at a high end European coffee shop. I have even had friends say how beautiful the machine is! The machine comes with easy to read and follow instructions that will help even the inexperienced barista produce a well brewed beverage. I expected the coffee tamping arm to be weak and flimsy as well as the portafilter handle. However, after the first use I realized that this was not the case. The tamper features an easy to read gauge and remains solid with not an inkling of becoming loose or imminent failure and produces a perfectly tamped coffee dose. The portafilter handle is a very strong plastic and even with the pressure needed to secure it on the coffee outlet, it remains tight with no indication of failure. The auto grind coffee mill is a huge plus with easy connection and auto start, however, don't forget to put in the filter cup. Settings are well explained on how to produce the right amount and dose and also features a "MY" button setting to store personalized setting. I mainly used the machine to make espresso based drinks but it also is very handy for dispensing water for tea as well as brewing an Americano or coffee. The steaming wand and dial is easy to use and cleans easily as well. The only drawback at this point thus far is there does not appear to be an easy solution to having a hard line water supply. The De'Longhi La Specialista Prestigio Espresso Machine is an impressive looking and operating machine that is satisfying my coffee/espresso needs! It comes with easy to follow instructions to assist any level operator to create their perfect beverage.

Luxurious Espresso Machine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I have been using this espresso machine daily and we love it. It looks incredible and fancy on our countertop and the aroma that fills our home when we make a latte or espresso in unbeatable. The only negative that I can find is that it is very hard to make consistently delicious coffee. I would say about half of the time we get a perfect cup, but the other half we either over or under extract our coffee and the taste is a bit off. It does say in the manual that there is some trial and error in perfecting the machine, and we are getting more comfortable each time we use it. Overall, it makes great coffee and is very appealing to have on the counter.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Coffee lovers dream machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The number one factor that matters with any espresso machine is the quality of the drinks you make. With the De'Longhi La Specialista- I truly believe I can make drinks just as good (if not better) than any chain coffeehouse. I say better because many mainstream coffee shops have automated their coffee machines and there is no “hand crafting” in their drinks. As a former barista I have worked with non-automated commercial espresso machines and this machine produces the closest version to the high quality drinks that I made in the coffee shops I worked. The hardest part of pulling the perfect shot is getting the espresso ground correctly, the right amount in the basket, and the proper pressure tamping. The De'Longhi La Specialista - takes all the guesswork out of this equation. The built in conical burr grinder gives you a customizable uniform grind and it dispenses the perfect amount, only grinding what you need. It also comes with a single or double basket to give you variability for drink strength. The second greatest feature is the built in tamping arm. I have experience tamping drinks, but my 9 year old son made me an iced coffee, because if you can push 2 buttons and pull the tamping arm, you can use this machine. I like the size of the water tank, and that they had me test the water hardness to fine tune the machine even further. The steam wand is great and efficient for steaming milk. This is by far the highest quality espresso machine I have used. I like the built in hot water arm for making Americanos or using it for hot water for tea or hot chocolate. The overall aesthetic of the machine is very high end. The stainless steel finish and overall design make it a piece that you enjoy seeing on your counter. It is great for making 1 coffee drink at a time, but I have also made 5 in a row when the family is over. The machine handles both situations seamlessly. The initial set up was easy and it did not take long to get the grind adjustment tuned in so that you get to the perfect fill line. The machine comes with quick guides and instructions as far as how your espresso should look, and the adjustments you can make to get it to pull the perfect shot every time. The quality of the machine and the quality of the drinks it makes are what make the De'Longhi La Specialista the perfect espresso machine for the at home coffee lover.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't use coffee machines like this before. So for the first time the machine seemed a little bit difficult for me.
The box contains a quick start guide, and instructions for use, which helped me a lot in using the machine. Also I referr to those information every time I need.
Overall look. The machine looks a little bit commercial. It is full stainless steel with a really cool shiny black control panel on the front. Nice white lights, pressure gauge, and all the control buttons conveniently located on the panel. I like that there is minimum of plastic details. Everything is sturdy and looks professionall. Esthetically it is fantastic.
The height is 17.5in tall. Depending on your upper cabinets, you have to double check it will be convenient to have access to the bean container on the top.
Water tank on the back is large enough and accommodates 2l of water.
Practically there is no mess on the workspace after using the machine. Everything is very quick and easy to make.
The machine is versatile, I can do preset beverages, like Espresso, American, or can do personalized coffee.
I love this machine, and would definitely recommend it for all coffee lovers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Incredible Home Espresso

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The La Specialista Prestigio Espresso Machine is a fantastic addition to our home coffee routine! Out of the box, the set-up instruction takes only fifteen minutes, and most of that time was the recommended washing and cleaning accessories before use. The included instructions are straightforward and provide beneficial information. It is worth taking the time to read all of it thoroughly. Once you tweak the settings you are using to attain optimal pressure, this machine works amazingly! The maintenance and cleanup are simple and should be done often. The grinder and tamping features are some of the most excellent parts, so you do not have to purchase them separately. You may want to consider purchasing a coffee knock box separated, however, to knock the coffee grounds immediately out of the portafilter after brewing. With tamping, these grounds like to be compressed in the portafilter. The only minor issue with this espresso machine is there appears to be condensation building up in the pressure gauge. Initially, the portafilter requires a good deal of effort to position both the grinder and brewing settings. This loosens up, and you become more familiar after a few brews. Overall, this espresso machine is one step below a coffee shop, and we look forward to years of terrific coffee ahead!
