De'Longhi La Specialista Espresso machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you love espresso you’ll love this machine. It has a built in burr grinder with sensor for precise portafiler fills, an built in tamper. Dual heating system an hot water spout for Americano coffee or tea. Froths milk, flat or foam for lattes and cappuccinos. The active temperature control works better than any machine we have owned. The dual heating system allows you to make hot tea without that coffee taste I have seen from other machines. The my button feature allows you to customize one or two cups to your own taste. The machine is well built from metal an not plastic like other machines I have owned. This machine will last for for a long time with the proper care. Very very high quality built machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good enough espresso

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, this is a great looking machine. If you're just getting into espresso, it's got a built in grinder and a tamping station to help make the perfect puck. The combined setup also keeps loose coffee grinds from getting everywhere. For an all in one, it allows you to get a decent espresso with crema which is really important for decent espresso. The machine makes dialing in the right taste easy for beginners. It also makes a good Americano by automatically adding in hot water, but the coffee setting is garbage. Just stick with the Americano if you're wanting a cup of coffee. Now, the only real downside of this machine is the steaming wand. It can heat up your milk or non dairy beverage, but it won't be able to froth it up enough to make latte or cappuccino. If you're not into those types of beverages, this machine is for you. But if you're looking to make a good lattes, you might want to look for a machine that has a stronger steamer. This machine is easy to use, but the only inconveniences may be the water reservoir (which is located on the backside of the machine) and the bean hopper. If you plan to keep this machine on a countertop located under cabinetry, you'll need to pull the machine out from under the cabinets every time you want to refill coffee beans and water.

Will opt for other brands

I bought this Nov 2022. It's a great machine only if it worked the way its suppose to. I've had it for 2 months now and I already called customer service several times to troubleshoot the descaling light that goes off every 10 days plus descaling time 1-1.5 hrs and I tell you they suck big time! Out of all the "coffee and espresso specialist" that I spoke to, none of them had a solution. Currently waiting on my shipping label for 2 weeks now!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy with the ease of use and flavor of these roasts! This is my first in home espresso machine. Setup only took a few minutes. After taking it out of the box and plugging in the machine I had to run a one time new machine cleanse. This took less than 5 minutes and my espresso machine was ready to use. I have been using the machine to make espresso and americanos. Clean up is easy and takes less than a minute after your beverages are finished. I would recommend this espresso machine to others. We are very happy with the functionality and ease of use.

Excellent coffee every time
on September 9, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent at-home espresso machine for making café-quality coffee. I’ve tried many espresso machines that claim to provide this level of consistency and customization, and I would choose this one over others for several reasons. First, it is extremely customizable, making it possible to create excellent espresso (or other coffee drinks) with consistently great flavor and crema again and again. Granted, this does take time. I dedicated a few hours to getting the settings just right for the type of beans that I prefer. But once that setup is complete, it’s done. Second, this machine is quiet. While other machines make significant noise when grinding the beans and pulling shots, this one does not. The built-in grinder is quick and efficient, and there is no rhythmic thump as the shots are pulled. Third, this machine is amazingly clean. The built-in tamping mechanism helps to avoid spilled coffee grounds, and the remainder of the device requires just a quick wipe-down following uses. This lack of coffee and hot water splatter also makes it easier to avoid water spots and other marks that are all but unavoidable with most machines. There are a few features that I wish had been handled differently. Given the machine’s sleek design, it’s not possible to see into the water tank. As a result, you don’t know that you need more water until a flashing symbol appears or the machine stops doing what you’ve asked it to do (sometimes mid pull). Though the built-in grinder does a great job and responds well to even minute adjustments, the beans sometimes don’t make it from the container into the grinder itself, resulting in the need to grind beans more than once to get a full filter. And though the instructional manual notes the location for a water softener, it doesn’t include any specifics about using one. Still, this is an exceptional, relatively easy-to-use machine that makes consistently delicious coffee. It is well worth the investment.

Mess Free Quick and Easy Espresso
on September 14, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The De'Longhi La Specialista Prestigio Espresso Machine eliminates the mess. The tamping arm/grinder is all encased so no grounds spill over to leave a mess on my counter. Took me a while to get it dialed in but now it consistently makes espresso exactly how i like it. The Frothing arm works great. It has a screw tip and tool included to keep it clean. Be careful not to ‘double grind’ The grinder auto-starts when the handle is inserted. If you forget to tamp, turn off the machine before re-inserting. Pros Very clean, no spilled coffee grounds Great espresso, very consistent. Frothing arm tip unscrews and comes with a pokey tool Cons Heavy, hard to move out and refill Easy to ‘double grind’ if forget to tamp

Sleek and deceptively simple to use
on September 8, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly, the machine is beautiful. Perhaps that matters less for some, but it's a counter-top appliance that is a mainstay in our home. Aesthetics is important for us. It looks sleek and is also functional in all the important ways. Does it make good espresso and espresso drinks? YES! We love coffee/espresso and we drink it everyday. It took some trial and error to pull a great shot to our liking, but it wasn't overwhelming to learn the different functionalities and no different than the process we go through every time we've gotten a new machine or a new brand of espresso bean. The learning curve with this machine wasn't as steep for our experience as past machines. Within a day we had figured out how to use it and create decent drinks. By end of a week we were crafting beverages that we consider to be just as good or better than what we could go out and buy. We love that there is a bean grinder built into the machine. We had a separate high end grinder that took up precious countertop space that we no longer have to deal with as this grinder, so far, functions equally well. The heating functionality is very fast and getting my morning latte is a quick process. Overall ability to customize the grind and dose are great to being able to pull a shot to your liking. The steamer is pretty standard so don't have much to say there. The only areas that are challenging are: -If your kitchen cabinetry is not updated or sits low, the machine may not fit underneath due to the grinder adding additional height. -If you don't have an open space above the machine, you need to pull the machine out in order to take the water tank out. Not a huge deal but the machine is hefty so you do need to slightly lift it to pivot it around to access the backside. Overall we love the machine and we are enjoying using it everyday. We hope to be using it for years to come and would recommend it to any espresso/coffee lover.
