Amazing Addition To Our Mornings

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This espresso machine is amazing. With a busy household filled with children, mornings have felt rushed and chaotic for a long time. We had been working hard to maintain a consistent routine to get out the door and everywhere we needed to be on time. This espresso machine has turned our stressed out morning routine into what feels like more of a morning rhythm or ritual, all without adding anything complicated.
Like most homes, Coffee is something that happens in our household every morning and was more of a hurry up and go situation. This espresso machine makes the most amazing beverages, and give me a moment to take a deep breath and actually recognize and appreciate the day each morning. This has been such a nice addition. The espresso machine is a breeze to use, and is a quick process with very little effort.
The machine itself is beautiful and something that we absolutely don't mind having out on our counter top permanently. We have also tried a variety of roasts and brands and coffee beans and have yet to be disappointed in the espresso and coffee drinks that come out of the machine.
An added bonus to the machine is that I often enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoon or evenings and I no longer need to use a kettle of any kind as this machine dispenses hot water for tea with the push of a button.
I seriously can't imagine my mornings without this machine. I can't recommend it enough to anyone who enjoys their morning cup of coffee or espresso.

Title: nice for the coffee enthusiast

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a pretty cool machine but it isn’t your average touch and go coffee machine. It has a pretty large footprint so you’ll need plenty of countertop space for it. It’s also pretty hefty but if you’re a coffee and espresso enthusiast, this might be what you are looking for to make your daily espresso. You start off with freshly ground coffee beans and have the option for variable grind settings depending on the beans. The indicator lights are handy especially for the water and coffee bean levels since you can’t easily see the water compartment and might not be paying attention to the levels for either item. The quick start guide has a handy chart on dose, grind and temperature level settings to use depending on the roast, which was nice. The cleaning is pretty straightforward and easy and there is even an indicator to remind you when to run the de-scaling. Although the machine looks intimidating, it isn’t too complicated to use. If you follow the suggestions in the guide, you get a consistent brew each time. The espresso setting is our favorite and the results are way better than anything you can buy from a shop. The milk frother is a nice touch and also simple to use. I dont have to worry about having a separate gadget to froth milk since it is integrated with the machine. A very nice product for the espresso enthusiast.

Recommended espresso machine and milk frother

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very pleased with this espresso machine and milk frother. Our machine is used 2-3 times per day and makes predictably good espresso. I am a fan of cold espresso drinks but my husband reports that the milk frother works well and is easy to use. Overall the machine is easy enough to use that my 8 year old has taught himself how to make mochas and lattes that revival the local shop and are better than Starbucks.
My 2 complaints about this machine are the size and the auto grind feature on the espresso maker.
The size can't really be changed considering it has a water reservoir (very handy), a whole bean grinder (which means freshly ground espresso every time), espresso maker and milk frother.
When the machine is on, if the grounds cup/handle are placed on the bean and tamping side, the machine will autogrind based on the current settings. There is not a button to initiate grinding. This may be fine for some, but it means that if I am using pre-ground espresso and just need the tamper, I have to change my husband's grind settings and turn off the grinder and I have to remember to do it before I put in the grounds cup. It's not a deal breaker, but having a "grind" button would make it easier for me.
Overall I would recommend this machine and am happy with the amount of money that I'm saving by making quality drinks at home.

The BEST

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is hands down the best espresso machine I’ve used! I’ve had and tried several, as this one is by far the easiest to use and makes the smoothest, and most amazing tasting espresso!
My only complaint is the height of the machine is too tall to fit under my cabinets in the counter. This might be an issues for others too.
Overall SO happy with the look of this machine, the taste of the espresso, and how easy this is to use!

Ultimate Machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This De’Longhi La Specialista espresso maker is top notch! From the sleek look and true barista style features, to the excellent taste and specialized brews, this is the last espresso maker you will need! I am an avid coffee/espresso drinker and this machine is my new go-to. I thought I had a good set up with my previous machine, but it doesn’t even compare to the La Specialista. The espresso is easy to grind and tamp thanks to the built in tamping feature, which is my favorite part, because now I never find espresso grinds on the counter while making my lattes! Likewise, the milk is super easy to steam to the perfect temp. I will say, I am detail oriented, so upon setup I read the instruction manual to learn all the features, specifications, etc. as I tested it out to adjust to the setting for my personal espresso style. After about a morning of trials and adjustments I was able to get the perfect settings for my taste. Iced lattes, hot lattes, and Americanos are my favorite drinks, to make but all of them are equally as delicious. I also found amazing online recipes and videos on the De’Longhi website that give great ideas and tips for using La Specialista. I cannot recommend this machine enough! I even get compliments from friends and family about how pretty it is on my kitchen counter, an art form in addition to delicious espresso machine :)

Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wanting an espresso machine for a long time and was so excited to get this one. The instructions for setup are easy to fallow and doesn’t take too long. I did end up wasting a quarter bag of beans getting the correct grind and dose however once you get it right you don’t have to mess with it again unless you switch bean type. One I got all the settings right the machine makes good espresso shots that taste delicious. The frothing wand makes good foam and is easy to use. The only downside is I can’t froth my milk at the same time I’m pulling a shot. Now I just have to work on my latte art. The water from this is hot enough for a good cup of tea as well for cooking instant oatmeal.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lets start with a few features we thought were pretty great!
The instruction booklet was the best one I've seen yet. It was easily understood and had pictures to go along with the explanation to help those who are more visual (like me!). That alone was a great feat to accomplish when most manufacturers tend to fall short in that area.
The self tamping tool was a feature I was completely unsure of at first, questioning if it could really get the perfect press. Rest assured my wariness was a misguided one. The tamper worked great!
The buttons/labeling was straightforward and easy to understand when make coffee or tea.
Now on to the struggle bus we go.
We could never get a great coffee grind with the grinder. The finest setting seemed to not be enough. A lot of work on our end and extra equipment would be required in order to get the machine to really run a good cup of espresso. We messed with all the settings possible but never found a combination that would work. Because of this we went back to our old espresso machine.
Overall it is a beautiful machine with a few extra plastic parts I could do without, but ultimately it was not the machine for us.
