Great espresso machine!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! Let me start off by saying this thing is huge. But I absolutely love it. It took me several tries and rereading the instructions many times to get the hang of this machine but now I got the hang of it. I love that there is a grinder built it. I love the built in tapper the best because i don’t have to worry about over or under tapping the coffee grounds. Also any mess from the grinder or tapper is caught in the tray for very easy clean up. In about 5 minutes I have have a great cup or homemade espresso. This machine is great!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Espresso Machine EVER

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I fell in love with espresso on a delightful vacation to Italy 5 years ago. The De'Longhi La Specialista takes us right back there! This machine is fabulous and has all the right bells and whistles. It took a few practice attempts but we finally perfected the grind size, perfect tamping amount to get the optimal espresso. The instructions are fairly straightforward and the machine is top quality. I'm still mastering the art of steaming milk with this machine and hope to add that to my repertoire soon.

Best Esspresso

After 30yrs sampling and enjoying coffee in Seattle at places like Vivace, Vita, Ladro, Uptown, etc. (friends don’t let friends drink Starbucks). Purchased a La Specialista about a year ago - it makes the best coffee for me (double breve w/honey) that I’ve had anywhere.
That said, I have some gripes.
1. The standard height of upper kitchen cabinets is 18”. This machine is just over that meaning it can’t be placed under the cabinet. Depending on your kitchen, you may not be able to place it against a wall if you have upper cabinets.
2. The filter is difficult to get out of the filter basket. I used the backside of a spoon to extract it until the silicone tab tore off. Purchased another and now use forceps or hemostats to remove. And, if your pulling shots back to back you have to remove it or pressure will max out and stall the machine.
3. Can’t use dark beans. The oils in darker beans seems to clog things up. I tend to like medium roasts more anyway.
The last gripe isn’t that big of a deal but the splitter on the bottom of the sump came off so I can’t use two shot cups. I don’t anyway so not a big deal.
All in all, I love the machine. Can’t believe it took so long for me to find this one. I’ve have several other machines. None that compare.

Expresso at home!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Oh this machine is amazing! It's a beast, LA Specialista Prestigio has really created the perfect Expresso, Latte, Coffee Machine. This is such a fancy yet easy to setup and operate machine. I set it up myself and was able to grind my own beans into the perfect blend for my favorite expresso. It has multiple settings, and the manual explains the many functions that you can adjust. There's nothing like grounding fresh beans into coffee, expresso, or having a Latte in your own home and this machine is a real conversation piece! My girlfriends love coming over for Latte / expresso mid morning meetings. Get the machine, you will love it!!!

This Espresso Machine is Life Changing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The La Specialista makes arrestingly good lattes, americanos and espresso shots. Friends have commented about how great our coffee drinks are and how nice the machine looks in our kitchen. I’m actually excited to get out of bed every morning because I know I’ll be able to drink a fabulous latte or americano in minutes. We use it daily, and it has completely replaced all of our other coffee making methods.
Daily use is a breeze once you get the hang of it, but there is a bit of a learning curve as it is a fairly high tech machine - there an LED panel with a fair number of lights to learn the meaning of. However in my opinion the rewards of investing the time to learn the machine are VERY worth your time. The steam wand is powerful and can make a thick foam if needed. The integrated grinder/tamper (personally, my favorite feature) makes packing the portafiler an exceptionally neat and easy process. The machine is a bit large with a higher profile, but seems comparable in size to other high-end espresso makers.
I cannot recommend the LaSpecialista Prestige highly enough. Get one - it will change your life!

Problems problems problems

I got this machine as a gift 2 years ago and I have had nothing but problems. The first year I shipped it back to them and they fixed it but this year within a few months of using it the grinder and the frother stopped working properly. When I spoke to support they sent me an email saying the warranty was only for 2 years and there was nothing they could do. This machine was a lemon since the beginning. It’s waaaaay too expensive to tell me I can get 20% off a new one or I can pay to get it fixed. I didn’t even have one good year with it. I would like to throw it out the window. Don’t buy Delonghi!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quality All Around

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't know who I am more impressed with-the designers of this amazing machine or me for making such incredible beverages at home! Once I got accustomed to the features, settings, and process, this machine wound up being very straight forward to use (with an easy to follow manual) and produced cafe quality (if not better drinks). My favorite feature is the LatteCreama milk frother. It takes the beverage to the next level. This machine is also gorgeous-so sleek! I love how it looks on my counter!
