I’ve spent time behind several enclosed MRDs, and Steiner’s clarity and field of view is unmatched. It is rugged and suitable for duty use. Some complain about the battery life, but I haven’t had any issues. Change the batteries out once a year and you’ll be fine.

Multipurpose Optic

This optic is not only a solid pistol red dot, but it is a fantastic secondary sight on a rifle with a scope. I run it at 12 o’clock on my 14.5” AR15. I couldn’t be happier. The window is pretty large compared to most other enclosed micro red dots. The battery life seems reasonable, but I wouldn’t say that it is the best. Something else that is noteworthy is the build quality. It feels solid and secure and I can see myself buying more of these in the future.

Love it, won’t be leaving it behind

I bought my first MPS in July 2023. Mounted it to a G17 and took a class with it, probably around 2000 rounds in the first week. No issues. The dot continued to perform phenomenally as it was on my primary duty gun.
The window size is bigger compared to the acro (from my eye) and I love that it sits lower than the acro (also from my eye). I love everything about this red dot. Battery life is roughly 5.5 months on some of the higher brightness settings, longer if it’s a lower setting. I change mine every 3 months to avoid being caught off guard.
The only downside - one of the battery terminals snapped, and caused my dot to flicker on recoil (still holding zero). I tightened the battery cap down further and managed to avoid the flickering, but still warrantied it to avoid any issues. The warranty process was easy, I think it took about 2-3 weeks to get my new MPS? A little longer than I’d like but no grief from Steiner was nice.
I’ve bought a second one that’s lived on my EDC for about 1.5 years now. I only will use this red dot, the quality and features for the prices through ExpertVoice are unbeatable!

This red dot is built tough and the window is bigger compared to other enclosed optics.
The dot is sharp and controls are easy to feel when turning on and off.
I have been running it for USPSA matches and it has not failed me. Its great for beginners and an experts. The install is simple. The MPS is a different footprint than the ARCO but there are 3rd party clamps that will make it work on a ARCO footprint if you are already invested in that footprint system.
