My favorite dot. Much clearer glass than the rcr. Low stack height like the eps. And dovetail style mounts don't put shear stress on mounting screws. This optic is a win and by far my favorite micro closed emitter.

Did not come with the mount plate, I may have been mistaken but it appeared to advertised with the mounting plate. I ordered a mount for it and will proceeding with the testing and evaluation for the product upon its arrival.

Work sights
on June 20, 2024

This has been a great sight for me. I would like for it to have a auto turn on feature but I'm able to turn it on once and it stays on all shift. I really like the closed emitter of it. I used a RMR and didn't like water splashing back in my face when firing in the rain. No worries with this sight. Also, I had my Glock 17 milled to fit the sight perfectly to where my stock sights still work and there's no extraction issues. All in all, a great sight.

Quality Red Dot
on June 26, 2024

In all ways of measurement it beats the competitors in the inclosed red dots. Metal battery cap, aluminum body, larger window, small shadow, clean if not cleanest dot I have looked through. The only thing it lacks is aesthetics and not using a CR2034 kinda the standard now. Both of those are not huge deals buy a few 1632s and get a ranger wrap to make her pretty for the gram.

MPS on a muzzleloader
on June 29, 2024
Posted by: James C
This might not be the first time an MPS was put on a muzzleloader but I'm guessing it doesn't happen too often. Break action muzzy's are known to wreck scopes especially when shooting smokeless loads. This dot has held up great, no problems since Feb. when I mounted it and started shooting heavy BH209 and medium smokeless loads. I wish for a smaller dot for longer ranges, but I'm still hitting steel to 300 yards and getting moa groups at 100 yards!
The +/- buttons for brightness and on/off are difficult to feel and I have to look for them too much. I'm sure with gloves on during a late season hunt I'm not going to like that.
But overall with the new regs in Utah for muzzleloader season I'm really liking this setup.

Enclosed Excellence
on July 11, 2024

Steiner Optics is a name brand which sells itself on recognition alone. The current offerings in the optic section of the company often leave much to be desired. The DSRX1 is overshadowed by the Romeo 8T, and its LPVO category is lacking as well. This is not the case with the MPS. In terms of enclosed footprint optics your choices are the Aim point Acro, MPS and Chinese knocks offs. The MPS functions beautifully and has all the cool gun flare of an independent optic. Not only does the MPS look great on any weapon it’s mounted to, its glass clarity and performance under day light, darkness and night vision also exceeds expectations. It’s a perfect example of a stand alone optic.

Love how clear the glass is. Prefer it to my ACRO.

A solid optic

Put this on my Staccato P for duty use a year ago. 12 months and 2000 rounds later I haven’t had to adjust it one tick, it’s still exactly where I left it.
I shut it off every day after work and still the battery only lasts 4 months. It’s not hard to change the battery, but I wish I didn’t have to so often. It is a little bulky but no more than the ACRO. I’ll run it a few more years and see what new options are available.
