Awesome machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] “I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/ review of the product.” I’ve always wanted a Brother Serger sewing machine. I like DIY projects and this machine makes it a lot easier. It comes pre-threaded which is a big help otherwise I would have been lost. It was easy to follow the direction of the thread to see how to get it threaded. I recommend watching a YouTube video before you use the machine because the manual is a bit difficult to understand. It does have a CD that you can order if you need to. I’m working on seat cushions to get the hang of the machine and so far it works like a charm. I will say it was a little intimidating when it arrived but once I figured out where everything went and how it worked, I’m loving the experience.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Serger fun

First time using a serger. Not too difficult to thread. Would like more room between opening by fabric placement and machine opening. Hard to get through to pull thread to the back.

This machine is beyond frustrating! My right needle won't stay in place and continues to slide down as I sew. I have gone through 8needles in two weeks. It took me too long to figure out it was the needle sliding. I had convinced myself the cotton I was using had a secret life of metal. My final straw was when the needle hit me in the face and caused me to bleed. I was horrified and grateful I hadn't hit my eye. I'm now late for my project and trying to figure out how to finish.

This serger is wonderful, especially for a beginner. Easy to thread, great tips on changing threads and so easy to see knit fabrics. I love it! A game Chan. I have it side by side with my sewing machine. My clothes have a professional finish that I could not accomplish with my brother cp100x.
