Using Midland coax. Center of roof. No paint on inside of roof for good ground. Power cables straight to the battery. SWR 1:2.1 is the lowest. Buy a real antenna & deal with the 32” above the roof.

I love the height of this antenna, as well as, not having the ability to bend it. This is a great solution you can hide about anywhere. The use of my radio only requires about 1-1.5 miles of range, so I mounted this INSIDE my Jeep on the roll bar; works really well. If I needed more range, I'd put it out on the hood or on the hardtop, but I roll with the top off all the time, so the antenna is exposed when the top is off and I'm well within my range requirements when the top is on. Highly recommend this antenna.
