Cable length and mounting can effect the SWR, adjusting how it is mounted or getting a shorter cable will get you to a preferred SWR. With that said, even at the 2.0, or 2.1 SWR performs very well. There are antenna comparison tests on Youtube by unbiased parties to show performance.

And the most important thing with comms? Reliability! And midland has that down to a science. I never have to worry if I can contact the outside world while on an adventure!

I bought this on a wim and wasn't going to expect a lot from it. I bought it because I alreay have a dual band antenna on the roof for the FTM 400 and wanted something for the GMRS and didn't want my vehicle to look like a porcupine, so I bought it and am totally surprised at how well it did work. Worth getting.
