This is a great universal mount! We see lots of Jeeps, Yotas, etc; that feature this product, but not in the everyday pickup truck(2013Chevy Silverado LT). This mount was place on the driver's side upward part of the hood and it works great! It's combined with the Midland MXT275. Install was super easy and quick. It's plug and play design is a bonus for new GMRS beginners like myself. I was very pleased as to how it works well not only with other Midland handhelds, but other non-Midland radios as well. I live in a city setting with obstructions (buildings, trees, distance, etc)but this combination did the job and did it very well!

Ghost antenna works better than the stock antenna that came with my MTX275. There seemed to be less interference and the voice clarity was greatly improved.

Great little antenna works like it’s supposed to, good for hilly areas on the trail.

I love Midland products, but this one is horrible, tried using it this weekend in the Mojave desert and nothing, tried listening to the weather station as I'm driving by the NOAA and nothing. I love a couple of miles from our NOAA and I can't get anything. I switched out my antenna for the little one, and it works perfect I can get my weather station in from a few miles away. I can listen to just about everything now. Maybe it's just my antenna that just is malfunctioning but I don't recommend it and not only that I don't like the fact that it scratches up the paint on my vehicles with the mounting bracket that came with it.

I’ve had the antenna for about a week. After testing it, I could get into repeaters I frequently use. There was a noticeable scratch in the audio and reduced range compared to my Browning BR 2445 phantom antenna. When I tested the mxa25 with a SWR meter I was getting over 2.5 and the wattage output was 38 watts on a 50 watt Btech GMRS 50 Pro. When I put my Browning back on the same mag out with the same radio, I get 1.2 on the SWR and the meter indicates 51 watts of output power. Unfortunately, I am sending the antenna back. This was disappointing all the way around. I had much higher expectations from a Midland product. Honestly, everything is made in. China, so even if it’s an American company, the products are not what they used to be.
