I bought it almost a year ago and it has already proven itself a worthy purchase many times over. Tenacious saw blade, sturdy screwdriver capable of handling a surprising amount of torque, wonderful scissors, and a sharp knife. All around marvelous tool.

Lost the first one I had after 10yrs. and liked it so much I bought a new one. The grip strength of the pliers, the sharpness of the saw, the scissors, the wire cutters, and crimpers make this the most versatile multi-tool around.

Very good build quality. I thought the handle covers would get in the way, but they make things much more comfortable and keep the tool from closing on your fingers or opening accidentally. Pliers and cutters are the best I've ever used. I like this style sheath better than the loop over design. If you use the pliers and cutters the most, this is the tool for you. If you need all the other tools, you will have to choose which ones are most important to you.

I have yet to find the perfect multi tool - this comes close. The option to swap tools helps get it even closer, even though I have never had to because the number and variety is ideal for my needs. This is my second powerlock. The first has been put through ten+ years of vigorous use and is still functional. It's only retired because of the black Friday sale. While I appreciate the deal, I would have gladly paid full price because it is worth the money when compared to other companies' products/prices. The one handed open/close and mechanical advantage of the gears puts SOG above other brands and I recommend them to all of my coworkers who are looking for, or already have, a multi tool.

This is my second Power lock, the first one I got 7-10yrs ago and still have it today. The only reason for the new purchase was that I had broken some of the tools in the handle and the jaws started getting sloppy. I use my multi tool daily and am very rough on them. I’ve broken the jaws out of several other brands, leatherman, gerber, ect and the SOG is the only one that lasted. It’s a great tool, period!!!
P.S. the flash2 is also a great knife!!!

I'm keeping the multi-tool for the knife, the saw, and the pliers. The scissors absolutely do not cut at 50% of the distance from the pivot to the tip, and I needed this feature to trim skin off a lesion I sustained. I ended up going to the doctor to have it cleaned up. Really too bad. The scissors won't cut a plastic wrapper unless you are at the root or close to it. This was the situation when I first wanted to use scissors. Very disappointed. I'm going to try carrying a Suisse Army knife all the time as I did when I was a young sailor, and for the most part, I'll leave the pliers at home.
I had a problem with the metal file about 10 years ago - it had no more cutting edge than a fingernail file. I hoped things had improved at SOG since then. But I need the compound leverage pliers, so I bought them in a version that might possibly serve me for other tasks. I also noticed that the wire cutter on the pliers had a dull spot on the edge. C'est la vie.
