Said it was weather proof but there was a puddle of water on the griddle in the morning after rain causing our new griddle to rust.

We recommend tenting the griddle cover up off the griddle top. The thick commercial grade polyester will allow any rain water to run right off the cover. The cover is not waterproof to allow air flow to prevent condensation or sweating.
