I was borrowing my brother's older model Coast flashlight to check out the grounds outside our house at night for coyotes and armadillos, but it is long and somewhat heavy. I liked the quality of my brother's flashlight, so decided to go for another Coast model. The XP9R is easier for me to carry and hold, is very bright for a longer distance, and rechargeable, so it suits my purposes.

Great little flashlight. I particularly like the ability to choose between 3 levels of brightness. The dimmest setting is better than the flashlight that this replaced, and the brightest really lights up the corners of my rural backyard.

I wanted a rechargeable COAST flashlight to replace my faithful HP7. The XP9R seemed about the same size and functionality, so I chose it.
A few days ago I was able to put it ti the test. A boat lift failed, at dusk of course, and we needed to repair the lift, in the dark. We could not determine the problem until I used full bright mode of the XP9R to see under water... A lift guide wheel had somehow come off, jamming the lift. With the XP9R we were able to locate and retrieve the lift wheels and walk the lift up with the boat on it. We will fix the lift on a warmer, sunny day.
The XP9R worked flawlessly. It's size, and easy grip make it a great light while working, or doing just about anything at night,
I'm so glad I have it.

Workhorse Light

Bought this light because of the small profile that would make it useful for work. After the purchase, the light is much better than expected for the small size. The added bonus of the rechargeable battery makes this flashlight my workhorse. As usual, the build quality for this Coast product is first-rate.
