Simple operation

So, I like this light. It’s easily operated with one hand. The rechargeable battery is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. You remove the battery, and plug a micro usb cable into the battery itself. How cool. I’ve had this light for over two weeks. I use it almost every day, and I haven’t had to recharge it yet. I gave it four stars because I think the adjustable beam should be able to zoom in a little tighter.

I have been using coast products for well over a year now, I’ve got over 8 lights of theirs for various reasons and situations due to being a high pressure vessel builder (vessels don’t have lightbulbs inside) I’m also an avid hunter and tracking in the dark is a big part. The XP9R is my favorite pocket light I’ve ever had. The dang thing is so bright and throws light where ever I need it. For its size, this light is a beast. I would recommend it to anyone for keeping in the house, truck, or at work. I’d like three for each location personally but I haven’t got around to getting two more, you will really enjoy this light.

Wow what a great light !!! Charged it up when i got it and used it every day for about 2 hours. 2 weeks later the light is still going strong. Still super bright and no sign of fading. I am glad that this light comes on medium because high is just too bright for most situations.This light is just the right size and weight and feels good in my hand. The only thing i do not like is the lack of of an outside charging port. But the fact that it so seldom needs charged makes this a small problem.

Close to perfect

This light is getting to be pretty close to perfect. The High output at 1000 lumens is enough for almost anything. The low output at 67 lumens is great for conserving battery and won't fry your night vision. The medium output of 350 is about right for most stuff. The ZX850 battery, a standard configuration protected 18650 cell, is the right choice in this design What more could a person ask for? How about a long range focus like the HP7R? That'd make this one perfect! Also, a big brother...Long range focus, ZX955 battery powered unit? PLEASE? Same light output as this maybe with turbo? You know, like turn the XPH34R into a long range focus hand held?

Absolutely love this light. Super bright and holds a charge pretty well. Fits in pocket with no obstruction or heavy weight. Tough as it can be, and the holder is very convenient, and helpful. Couldnt be happier with this light.

Awesome for its size!

We have three XP9R’s now and love them. Very bright for the compact size. Only gripe is that you have to remove the battery to charge it and there’s no way to know it’s getting low until it’s too late. My wife uses one to take the dogs out at night and it’s died on her a couple of times unannounced. Not cool when you’re trying to pick up poop in the dark.
Recently got the third one and found that one of the older two isn’t quite as bright and a bit yellower than the new one. I’ve heard that LED’s tend to change color over time but wouldn’t expect that with one that’s only a couple of years old and not used very often. Not complaining, just making an observation. Photo below shows the difference with the older one on the left.
