The XP9R is a great utility flashlight to own for around the house or in your car safekeeping. It's about 5 1/2 inches in length and feels good in the hand weight wise. Like all of my Coast flashlights it has a good comfortable knobby grip so it's easy to handle in the rain or when your hands are cold and wet.
I use ZX850 rechargeable batteries in mine which is great that I don't have to keep batteries around for my flashlights to chew through, have enough tv remotes and such to do that. The battery does last longer than expected, can't estimate how long but I use my lights daily for short 10 minute walks at night with my dog and I'm constantly scanning the wood line perimeter making sure I see any skunk, coyote, raccoons or possum so I can avoid them.....I have gone a few months in between charges. I do recommend keep a spare ZX850 or two so you can swap the batteries out and not be down your light.
The light broadcast is great, I get about 40 to 50 yards I feel of good narrow beam light or can switch quickly to an area splash light with about a good 12-15 ft coverage of the ground.
I highly recommend the XP9R for keeping in your car and around the house. It is a little on the large size to be an in pocket carry light or tool bag/box light....for that I'd highly highly recommend the XP6R for a 4 inch light that is lightweight with great light broadcast light the XP9R but is a little easier to misplace.

I buy nothing but coast lights (hp3r, hp7r, xp9r, and hl8r) from my local snap-on dealer and if ever have a problem he doesn't really want to warranty them and if I have any problems I jus contact these guys and they replace it no questions asked....

This Modest Sized Flashlight is a Beast

Will wonders never cease from Coast Products! As I unpacked my most recent order, I was full of anticipation as I opened the product carton. I'll be honest, I was somewhat surprised by the modest size of the XP9R flashlight. I expected something a bit bigger.
That surprise quickly changed to being impressed. The overall build, weight, balance, tactile feel & switch activation left me feeling amazed. This flashlight, simply put, is a beast!.The XP9R in its debut @ my house is at the top of my Coast Products "Flashlight Power Rankings" - it is an undisputed #1 in my household!
I have to say, this flashlight is the perfect flashlight for my hh use. I particularly like the locking slide focus. Of course, the rechargeable ZX850 Zithion-X batt is essential.
That said, great things can come in small packages, The XP9R is one of those great things! I whole heartedly recommend this excellent Coast Products flashlight!

This flashlight is so versatile....I use it to take my dogs our at night, find meds I have dropped, look under dark spaces, etc. I especially like the rechargeable battery. Abd, you can't beat the warranty. My replacement flashlight arrived within just a few days.. Customer support is superb. You will not regret adding this flashlight to your toolkit!
