Premium Audio Buds!

I've been using my new #GalaxyBuds by Samsung for about a week now. Nonetheless I’m ready to give my review and the big thumbs up or down on these wireless Bluetooth buds. Samsung’s roster includes three color options for the buds -- they come in your basic black and white but also in a really bright yellow for all you flashy folks out there.
Performance/Quality
The #GalaxyBuds have about 13 total hours of battery life and I’ve pretty much been able to match or exceed those hours with basic use at work and at home while testing them out. And the best part is they charge SUPER fast. The Buds last about 6 solid hours on a single charge and then another 7-8 hours after a quick charge from the cradle/case, which charges them wirelessly! So if you have any of the Samsung phones with the wireless pad you can drop the case right on too.
I will say one of my favorite features is the dual microphones and Ambient mode build in both earbuds coupled with amazing voice quality during phone calls. I am pretty impressed. Ambient mode allows just the right amount of noise cancelling you can adjust to fit your surroundings. If you’re living or working in the big city you can adjust the mode to still hear traffic or someone calling out to you. I had to adjust when I realized my coworker was trying to get my attention. Hey, my music is my soundtrack while I’m out on break. Lol The range of the sound is pretty exceptional --- thank you AKG for the premium sound features!
If you’re a Samsung junkie you are familiar with the Samsung control features, like turning up the volume with a single touch or skipping to the next track with a tap, then these Buds are just right for you. And if you’re new to Samsung’s lineup of premium sound headphones, you are in for a treat! The features are super easy to use, learn and master with only take a few swipes or touches to get started. Being hands free with our devices in our uber busy lifestyles are a lifesaver.
Design
When I first received the Buds I was expecting them to be much bigger but to my surprise they are a perfect size and nice and lightweight. I have pretty small ears and usually have trouble finding headphones with in-ear buds to fit properly. Either they’re too big and begin to feel uncomfortable or too small and wiggle their way out of my ears. So Samsung made it easy for us, they’ve included several different sizes of wingtips (or fins as I call them) and eartips sizes to find your exact fit for your ears to maximize comfort.

Cons

Conclusion
BIG THUMBS UP! These Galaxy Buds are top quality earbuds for those with an active lifestyle or just want to have comfortable buds to listen to music in the office. Call quality is also a plus -- the calls are crystal clear and the dual microphones keeps a great balance of your voice for the caller. The battery life is great between charges and the bud can charge to almost 2 hours in 15 minutes if you are in a rush. I think my favorite feature is the premium AKG sound quality for music and the built-in equalizer settings in the Samsung Wearables app. I am super happy to have these #GalaxyBuds in my arsenal of Samsung wearables!

Not as good as 2018 Gear IconX buds

I've had the 2018 Gear IconX buds since they were released and the new Galaxy Buds are a big step backwards.
The fitment of the Galaxy Buds vs the IconX is probably the biggest issue I have with them. They come with 3 different size rings and buds, but even the largest ones are not large enough to create a seal over my ears. This results in an insecure feeling fit, as well as sound coming in and decreasing the audio quality. For reference, I'm 6'3" tall, 200lbs and I do not have big ears, but I'm a fairly large guy. My 5'3" wife has no issues with the fit of them.
The touch controls are also crippled now vs what the IconX are capable of. The pad itself has changed from a matte finish which allowed fingers to slide easily across it to a gloss finish that does not allow for swiping, as swipe controls have been removed. You can no longer swipe up and down to control volume. The tap controls are the same (tap once to play/pause, twice to skip, three times to go back), but volume control, ambient sound control and voice search control are now features you have to choose between during setup and you can only choose one. If you choose to control volume by touch (hold on right bud for up, hold on left bud for down), then you can't also control search or ambient by touch. This also means you have to potentially use both hands to control the volume. This design is absurd. One other note, although a bit nitpicky, is that the gloss finish appears that it won't resist scuffing as well as the IconX matte finish does.
The Galaxy Buds also do not have heart rate monitors like the IconX do, which means they can not be used in conjunction with Samsung Health for activity tracking. This also means you can't choose a primary bud the way you can with the IconX.
Galaxy Buds also removed the 4Gb on-board storage that was present with the IconX. This means that you have to be connected to your phone to listen to music, whereas with the IconX you had the option to leave your phone and listen with the buds alone. This was a feature I found very handy when doing things like mowing, other yardwork, or general work around the house where I didn't want my phone in my pocket.
One other small issue is the fact that the indicator lights show more granular information on the IconX. On the Galaxy Buds there is a single light inside the case, so if you use one bud at a time on occasion, then charge them simultaneously, you can't see the individual charge states of the individual buds.
All in all, the Galaxy Buds are a significant step backwards in design and capability. The only true advancement is wireless charging, which is a feature I personally would not use. If you are a smaller person and really want wireless charging, definitely buy them. If you want more capability and functionality, and/or if you are a larger-framed person, then you want to consider the 2018 model Gear IconX for a much lower price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mowing just got better!

I have been using the Samsung Galaxy Buds for a month now and overall I am very satisfied with what Samsung delivered! When I received my Buds, they were completely dead and I was kind of bummed out I could not pop them in immediately. I don't know if they all come like this, but it was not really a big deal as they were charged up and ready to go in about 20-30 minutes! After charging them I put them in and was immediately blown away by the fit, sound and overall ease of use. Before receiving my Buds I was concerned about the fit, but these things stay in like no other earbud I have ever used and I assume that with the interchangeable fins and tips the fit will be perfect for everyone! My initial reaction to the sound was ok I guess, but after using them for a month with different genres of music I am a very happy customer! The highs are crisp and the lows are low, I changed the EQ a few times but found that dynamic sound mode to be the best overall for all types of music. The Buds are great for work, play, sport or any situation, I use them when I mountain bike, while mowing, at work and in the car! The only negative which really is not bad, is the ambient sound mode. While it works as advertised, if you have your music turned up you will still have to pause your music to conversate. However even at the loudest music volume you can hear things around you which is the point I suppose. Overall I am super happy with the Galaxy buds and their performance in all the situations I have used them, I would and have told many people they need some buds in their life immediately!

Awesome, noise cancelling sound with great feature

I bought my Galaxy buds about a month ago and they are great! The touch pads on the Galaxy buds offer great productivity and versatility with Bixby built in to use with the buds which makes it great for multi-tasking.
