Very Nice Refrigerator
on June 7, 2012
Posted by: Anonymous
I've had this refrigerator for about one month and, so far, it has performed extremely well. It keeps foods at the appropriate temperature and is extremely quiet (you can hear sounds from the icemaker when it is dropping ice and filling with water, but that's to be expected). It also looks very nice in the kitchen.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, Quality

Very Nice

Overall, this refigerator functions very well. It keeps things nice and cold, we have never had anything spoil. It does freeze things in the back, slightly, even though it is only at 37 degrees, but not a big deal; still very good. The shelves are nice and easy to clean and move. The produce and fruit bins are good sized, . The freezer is great, great shelves and baskets, plenty of room for frozen meals, will even fit an entire frozen pizza box, and a nice pull out bin with the ice maker. The stainless steel looks very nice, it does get smudged, but is easy to clean with a little spray. The alarm is a nice feature, because it is easy to leave the door ajar, we usually keep the alarm off since when loading groceries it can be annoying, but it can be turned on and off easily. The guard on the floor is very nice, dog toys don't go under it, neither does as much hair as one's with out guards. The french doors have nice, big bins, they hold milk jugs, juice bottles, jams/jellies, salad dressings, etc. They are also nice, because they are smaller than a full door, therfore they do not swing out and block off half the kitchen, also they are nice because you can just open one of them to get at something on one side of the fridge. Also the bottom drawer in the refrigerator is very nice because it apparently keeps things colder, so it is good for organizing flat things, like cheeses, sandwhiches, etc, that clutter the rest of the frigde

Love this refrigerator! Big and roomy in the top and amazing how much can fit in the freezer. So quiet I sometimes feel like I need to check to see that it's still running. Would definately buy again.

Huge capacity in narrow space

We had to find a 33 inch fridge. This is a beautiful machine with really nice features and great space. The only issue is, it is taking a while to get used to pulling out a drawer in the freezer to get ice.

Sleek design & good quality sliding shelves

I love the French door design and the freezer on the bottom . Food keeps well Freezer shelves and inside icemaker are perfect
Draw back with this product is door alarm . It only alarms if door is wide open...not slightly ajar. One is much more apt to leave the door a little ajar
Pros: Performance

This product is great!

We purchased this refrigerator in Sept. 2013 and have been using it now for four months. We love it!
The icemaker works great; there is an on-off switch on the basket in the freezer so if you go away you can simply turn it off. However, we went away over Christmas and forgot to turn it off, and when we came home after being gone for just 4 days, well, there was no overflow. Just the right amount. There must be some sort of sensor down there because I constantly use the ice for cold drinks, etc. and it constantly replenishes as needed, and the cubes are big. This product runs quietly, but occasionally you will hear a "knocking" sound which goes away quickly. My old frig you could hear the compressor on it anywhere in the house, it was that loud. But this product is super quiet. The exterior is an upgraded stainless finish which has a high gloss/luster to it, but the sides are a "gray color", kind of ugly. However, all the brands have that grey finish on the sides. I simply covered up the one side by putting all my magnets back up, and that took care of that issue. This product keeps the food very cold, and they recommend to not make any changes "to the factory settings." The "slide out middle drawer" is great. I had chicken in there for 3-4 days and when I went to cook it up, it did not smell bad and looked just as fresh as the day I brought it home. Normally, I could never keep chicken that long in my old frig, which I had for 20 years. I would have to freeze it or cook it. Likewise, the other drawers keep the veggies crisper and fresher much longer than my old product. One thing about this product, the doors don't close automatically. You have to push them shut. I had to get used to this, but its no big deal. There is a bell that chimes if you leave a door slightly ajar; happens in my house a lot, but we are used to it, and thank goodness for the bell/chime. Also, we had to remove the two top shelves to accommodate our big bottles, for ice tea, juice, soda, water, etc. Another nice thing about this product, you can easily see and find stuff readily. It has great LED lighting, and the shelves are not that deep so at a glance you see everything. And there is plenty of space on the doors with adjustable shelves, that provide quick and easy access. The freezer is on the bottom, and that took some getting used to from our old frig which had it on top, but you do get used to it. And besides, its a lot better to stand up straight and get stuff out of the refrigerator than to have to bend over and search for stuff like in our old frig. The very bottom has some sort of "bar" that is flush with the floor which prevents stuff from rolling under it. Also, this product does not come with any type of ice filter; but our plumber simply hooked one up that sits on the floor behind the unit since we have a water outlet back there. This product suits our needs perfectly, and I hope I get 20 years out of it; by the way, the compressor is warrantied for 10 years. This new stainless product, along with my new stove and dishwasher, really adds the finishing touches to my remodeled kitchen.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, looks gorgeous!

I guess I never realized how handy a ice maker is until we got this refrigerator. It is so nice to always have a ice tray full of ice we use a lot of ice cubes and it keeps up without any issues. We also like the l.e.d. lights and all the room this is one very nice refrigerator. We actually had bought a different one and when I looked at the reviews I called the store and told them I want to change my order and go with this Lg and we are so glad we did..........

Love at first sight

I seriously love this refrigerator. I am an energy conservation manager for a power company and I made plans to buy all new appliances during my state's Energy Star sales tax holiday. First order of business was finding a Tier III (most energy efficient in class), bottom-freezer model, with no ice or water in the door (they waste energy) and I found this model online. I looked this model up on www.enervee.com and it scored a 96 out of a perfect 100 in terms of energy efficiency. When it was delivered it was love at first sight (I've been assured it's not a sin to actually love an appliance.....thank goodness!). Love having the four storage drawers above. Easy to fit and organize everything in the freezer below. And love the LED interior lighting! I did remove the upper right shelf to make room for tall bottles (yep, the vino!). There's another LG french door unit that has a sliding shelf to allow for tall bottles as needed so maybe I can order it as an accessory part.
