Brush head removal inpossible

Good toothbrush and water pick BUT the brush head does NOT come off no matter how hard I pull. Do I really have to return to a manual brush because this is insane!

I would prefer a head with firmer bristles. Maybe a choice between soft or firm. I don’t feel the soft bristles are giving me the clean finish I like.
