I have used Norelco shavers for over 30 years and thought this one would do the job. After using it for nearly two months I returned it to Costco today and bought the model AT880. I hope this workes better than the last one. It did not give me a good shave in the morning (even though I shaved for longer than previously) and had to shave again if I went out at night. Definitely DID NOT like the last one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best ever electric razor that i have ever owned. so glad i went back to an electric razor after years of disposable razors due to lack of satisfaction of earlier electric razors. buy it, you can't go wrong

I use this Razor almost daily in the shower for my face and head and occasionally some regrowing body hair. Works fine with a nice liquid shower gel or shampoo or liquid shaving gel.
The shave is not quite as smooth as a top quality multi blade razor but close and definitely faster and also without a mirror, safer.
The only place I have had any problem with nicks or scratches is on the very loose scrotal skin, do not go there ever!
The battery indicator is great, I know my average face and scalp use is about 3-4 minutes. If I use a regular razor part of the time I can travel 3+ weeks without a charger.
I sometimes use it for a dry shave if I need a quick touch up, works fine that way or one can put on a dab of liquid shaving gel, I have never tried it with the lathering gels and creams.
It does not slide well just damp with water, needs to be dry or lubed.
I had a similar Model before this one that worked just a well but failed a few days out of Warranty. Phillips quickly replaced it anyway with my currant slightly upgraded Model, has the convenient Battery Indicator.
Pros: easy and safe to use in shower without mirror., smooth clean shave., battery lasts over 60 minutes., blade system easy wash out., quick dry shave when necessary., battery minute indicator.
Cons: stay off loose follicular skin.

Excellent product. The shaver is very quiet and gives an excellent shave. I had to get used to the larger head area, but once I learned how to use it, I got close, comfortable shaves.
Pros: quiet, long battery life, large head coverage area

The recharging cord should be connected directly to the shaver instead of the base. It would be easier to store while on a trip.

Best shaver i've owned. Never a bad shave and no irratation. I have a sensative face and even my older phillips shaver sometimes would irratate my skin, but this one never has... love it !!
Pros: smooth shave
Cons: no cons so far

I received the 1250X razor as a gift because I had been complaining about my old electric razor because I could never get a close shave. I had the 1250X razor for 10 months now and I love using it. I get the best shave when doing a wet shave with foam and I get a great dry shave while traveling when I do not want to take shaving cream with me. This is the easiest razor to clean and I like the fact that the cleaning solution is affordable. I would recommend this razor to my friends who need a new razor. I am never switching razor brands again and I will definitely buy a Philips Norelco electric razor again.
Pros: easy to use, best shave ever on curved areas of the face, able to do a wet shave, affordable cleaning solution, easy to clean
Cons: no local retail stores carry replacement blades, not able to use as a corded razor

I received my Philips Norelco 8100 today and after the first use I'm hooked! Can't understand why anyone would use another shaver, this is the very best for the value. I would HIGHLY recommend this to every man I know.
