This is my newest Norelco purchase. I've used Norelco shavers for many, many years and love the shave I get with them. I especially like the ease of cleaning the new shaver.

The reason I got the shaver was for the features...I had no idea it would work this well...never used shaver in water so I can't comment on the performance there...works best on a clean face, but as long as your face is dry look out whiskers!

Shaving sessions not as messy as a blade

Not quite as close as a blad in some areas, but I never shed a single drop of blood as opposed to using a blade. With a blade there's always cutting of the skin, even if the blad is brand new.
Pros: never cuts your skin.
Cons: not as close as a blade in some places.

expensive to maintain

gives an excellent shave; battery stays charged for several weeks; the blades are expensive to replace and not always available in stores. I use the internet.
Also, cleaning blades with hot water is wasteful and time consuming. I bought a can of compressed air. That is quicker, because instead of leaving it out to air dry, you can put it back together and store it for the next day.

Not so great on hairy areas of face.

I have stiff whiskers on mustache and chin area. Face sides more hairy. Razor does fine on stiff whiskers, not so much on hairy areas.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
