I used Phillips shavers my whole life (I was born in Holland) and was never disappointed with their products. The only comment I have on this shaver although minor is that I would like the trimmer to be longer. It is hard to see when you are using it although it's maybe because I am left handed. (Ha, ha)
I've been using Norelco rotary razors for over 30 years. I'm probably on my 5th one or so. I've watched Norelco come up with new features and new styles as the years have gone by, This razor, the 1250x looks to be the last of the good ones, unless Norelco smartens up and fixes the newest ones. First, the 3D shave is wonderful, flexing every way possible works, close shave, very comfortable. And on THIS razor, the pop up trimmer is just OK, a few models ago, with the large swing up trimmer was the BEST, this smaller pop up trimmer is OK. BUT MUCH better than the NEWEST razors that don't have a built in trimmer, you have to pop off the whole shave head and pop on a separate trimmer, NO NO! I refuse to keep track of separate parts that will get lost, especially when I travel. Love the shape, easy to hold, battery lasts at least a week between charges. I'd buy THIS razor again (although you can't find them any more), but I will NOT buy any of the newest ones with the separate trimmer. PLEASE Philips/Norelco, FIX THAT in future models!
Pros: 3d shave is excellent, pop up trimmer works., shape/grip is excellent., battery life/charging is very good.
Cons: trimmer is kind of small, at least it has a built in trimmer
I have used this razor everyday for the past 17 months. The shaving heads are flexible enough to conform to all areas of my face for a thorough shave.
Pros: easy to clean., comfortable to hold and manipulate.
Cons: rq12+ replacement heads are slightly less quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Stopped working after about 30 shaves

This was an adequate shaver for the first six months of using it (for a total of about 50 times), as long as I went over and over the areas under my ears and jawbone, but then it just stopped working. It turns on, but it doesn't shave. I maintained it and cleaned it religiously, so I don't know what to say, except this was a ridiculously expensive shaver to rent for a few months' barely satisfactory use. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Cons: insufficient cutting of difficult to reach areas;, stopped working after a few months, difficult to clean, way overpriced
This razor was too expensive. It takes way too long to shave and I end up with what feels like a five o'clock shadow and my face is sore all day long from trying to get a close shave. It definitely is not THE ULTIMATE SHAVING EXPERIENCE you advertise.
Cons: cost
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have always used Phillips "Floating Head Technology" and while I never enjoyed the close shave it promised, it was miles ahead of it's closest competitor. Until I purchased, by accident, their new 1250X. I picked up the wrong box and was in a rush so I bought it anyway. For the first time in 50 years of shaving in now get a close, smooth, and painless shave. I use to rub my face red to get an almost clean shave. With this razor I make small circular motions over my entire shaving area and as promised, a smooth, clean, painless shave. Give your self 150,000,000 bonus points.
I first tried the shaver with a shave cream and it gave me a very close smooth shave. The next time I used the shaver, I used it completely dry, I also found this to give me a real smooth close shave. It is great being able to flip open the shaver heads and run them under hot water to clean them out, and leaving them open and laying on a paper towel takes care of any water that is left over from cleaning the shaving heads. This is the first shaver that I have owned that allows me to shave around my adams apple without having to pull my skin in either direction. Some people complained about the size of the side burn trimmer, true it does seem a little small compared to other shavers I have had, but that does not diminish its ability to trim your side burns.
