The Philips Norelco 6500 Shaver provides a close shave, is easy to clean, and will hold enough of a charge to last for a 2 week vacation (if you shave reasonably quickly). This is the second 6500 shaver I have had, the first one lasted 5+ years and finally just would not hold a charge.
This razor does not offer a smooth shave as compared to my Spectra 8894. It does not move smoothly around my face. It will dig into the skin unless you are careful. The Spectra has a trimmer and the charger is built in to the unit which is a definite advantage.
Design is really nice. Wasn't immediately obvious that the charger rests on the plug, but after I found that out I thought it was extremely clever :)
Quick charging
Not quite sure what all the indicators mean. On my old norelco it used to be a green light and that's it
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good close shave

As a blade shaver I shave wet with gel. This shaver offers a close and comfortable shave that I have not gotten with other electrics I have tried. There are two drawbacks: 1) The trimmer attachment does not do as good a job as a razor (none ever do). 2) There is nothing available to utilize the cleaning and lubricating solution as with other models. I would be willing to purchase one separately.
