PHILLIPS NORELCO face shaver Model 1160X SensoTouch Defect

Product does its job well, but problem is the on/off switch that has several cracks occurring after multiple uses (under 2 years). See photo below. Eventually, this unit will stop working due to the on/off switch. Also, the hard plastic shell around the on/off switch produces sharp edges around the cracked plastic. This is a product defect.
Pros: works well when new, good value, flexible head contours to face
Cons: on/off switch cracks with extended use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, thank you for writing this review. We're sorry to see the on/off button has cracks in it and it ultimately led to you being unable to use the shaver. Could you perhaps reach out to us on Social Media? (Facebook, Twitter or Instagram?)
If you'd like, you can also reach out to us via our web page. Our team will then help you out best they can. We hope to be in touch soon.
It took a while to get used to electric shaving but, now that I understand how to position the razor in tough areas (i.e., neck contours), I am very pleased with the product. The only thing that should be improved is the trimmer. It really should be built in to the unit. Having to remove the shaving head to install the trimmer is time-consuming and inconvenient. As a result, I do not use the trimmer for sideburns, under the nose and other such facial areas and I resort to my old safety razor for those chores.
Pros: easy to clean, clean/charge unit is convenient
Cons: lack of built-in trimmer
I would recommend this to a friend!

This razor gives a very close shave without irritating your skin. I find that it shaves closer and more quickly than the previous generation Norelco razor I had. I really like the design of the head. It is easy to clean and simple to disassemble. I would like it to have a multi-level battery indicator, but there is a fair amount of shaving time left when the red battery low indicator first starts to flash. Overall, a very good shaver that is a significant improvement from the previous generation razors priced at the same level.
Pros: shaves close, easy to clean, good head design
The razor is well designed and gives me a clean shave. I like the way it flexes over the curved part of the chin and neck to gve me a comfortable clean shave. I have owned several Norelco razors and this one is far superior to all of the others.
Pros: flexibility for shaving curved areas
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have owned several Norelco shavers over the past 50 years, this is the best to date. I shave daily and never worn one out, only replace because of a new model or received as a gift. I like the style and ease of handeling, close shave without razor burn. Easy to clean and store on its charging stand. The only drawback is I cannot travel without taking the charging stand. It seems the shaver could be easily modified to correct this problem by designing the shaver to accept the charge plug direcrtly and leave the stand at home. I don't travel very often where space is tight, however, is has occured recently.
I bought the 1160x to be an upgrade from the Philips Norelco7310XL I have had for 2 years. The razor works well but it is not significantly better than the 7310XL and is about twice the price.
Pros: lightweight
Cons: performance about the same as norelco 7310xl
