I’ve been looking forward to this X-wing since the UCS TIE fighter came out a few years ago…That build was amazing and much better build. Which is why I think this build missed the mark. The base is weak and not ideal for the weight, on top of that the sign leaves much room for improvement. The X-Wing mechanism was a disappointment…held by red bands was not ideal for each wing weight either, also the twist knob is a little weak. The scale is far too large for the figures, Luke and R2D2 are way too small for the scale which is why I think this should’ve been a slightly smaller scale. The nose cone is a mess and does not fit well, some of the red leader stripes on the wings are only held by one puck, the engines are not very well thought out. Overall this UCS was disappointing to the other Star Wars UCS builds. I would not recommend at this price point, maybe half the price and even still I think most brick heads will find this a poor set.

Oh no! Sorry that everything wasn’t awesome with the X-Wing Starfighter™ set. We work hard to make sets that everyone can enjoy and your feedback helps us make them even better. We’ll share your comments with our design teams to help with future sets.
Very disappointed in this set for all the reasons others have mentioned. It's flimsy and poorly designed. Pieces just fall off while it's sitting on the shelf The build itself was ok, but the finished product just doesn't have the stability it needs.

We're sorry to hear that you're disappointed with this build. If pieces aren't stable, rebuilding from an earlier stage might be necessary. Sometimes there may be a piece just slightly off from where it should be. You'll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together. We're standing by at LEGO.build/Service-BV if you need assistance!
everything falls apart extremely easy making you have to go back and fix steps that were done a long time ago

We're sorry to hear that this build is leading to the path of the dark side. If rebuilding doesn't help, we're happy to take a look and offer troubleshooting at LEGO.build/Service-BV, so feel free to get in touch!
I was on the fence about this one for a long time, but as a collector of the original trilogy UCS sets, its kind of an iconic must have, so I finally broke down and got it. I was surprised at how beefy this thing is. It's a really big model and the details are pretty cool. I appreciated the printed data plate, putting the stickers on the older sets is kind of a pain. My only criticisms are these: The wing spreading mechanism is facilitated by a couple of rubber bands that will eventually dry out and break, I'm not sure what a better solution might have been, but this is a weak point in the build. Secondly, they are using a R2 Minifig for the Astromech droid which unfortunately doesn't comport to the scale of the model, so it doesn't look quite right. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this one more than I thought it would and it's a nice add to my collection.
After saving up for and buying this set, I for some reason was just really disappointed in how it looked and that it doesn't really do anything. Do not recommend. Waste
