Build Issues

I've built several UCS sets (AT-AT, Gunship, and A-Wing) and had a great experience with them all. This build however is not up to the same standards. Several sections of the build seem extremely flimsy (particularly the front fuselage) and I came away disappointed with this set.
The final product looks nice but this is by far the most frustrating set I've built to date. A lot of pieces can be difficult to fit together and the final result feels like it's held together by tape. I actually had to super glue a piece of the stand because it would pop off every time I put the ship on the stand. Once you have this built keep it away from children, pets, AC vents because even a light gust of air may cause this to fall apart. Luke minifig looks great.
While I thoroughly enjoyed the build process, my #4 bag was missing one of the two dark red 6214309 plates for the nose section, and it was seemingly replaced with a piece that is never even used in the set. Thankfully I had some workable spares from the recent Z28 Camaro set. On top of this, the box the set came in was barely holding closed. When I tilted the box the weight from all the bags was enough to break the seal. This is just disappointing quality control on Lego's part, especially for a UCS set. Other than these 2 issues, this set looks amazing and is a great display piece.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We're sorry to hear about that. It's rare for LEGO® sets to miss pieces, and we're here to help if it does. Visit LEGO.build/BricksPieces-BV to request a replacement piece free of charge!
I am defender of the look o this - I have ownbed both previous UCS X-wings and this is a big upgrade appearance-wise. However the experience is really ruined by the very poor design of the side panels for the fuselage, especially along the nose. The assembly places much too much stress on a couple of connections held by only a few studs. These are therefore prone to popping off, and once one panel fails holding the ship to try top reattach them usually causes others to pop off also. This is the most frustrating build I've had in lego build me or my son has had. I don't think it should have passed QA review and think Lego needs to issue packs with instructions and parts for a fix.
This is the single worst UCS set I have ever built. The experience is awful. The set is so unstable that it falls apart with the smallest touch. How this made it by QA is beyond me. Lego needs to fix this set ASAP. Poor quality and poor build.
This is a great set. Too many haters in my opinion. Build was great, the look is fantastic def better then the previous models that are too narrow. Yeah, there are some give and take, but overall, what a fantastic build. And though I will continue to say prices are getting out of hand for Lego. Looking at this set in comparison, it's price isn't bad.
You would think this set having an additional 400 pieces to the last UCS Red 5 X-Wing would be an upgrade. It unfortunately isn’t. This set is beyond flimsy and poorly constructed. The wing operation is comical at best, the sides of the fuselage have atrocious gaps and one small sneeze and it will all crumble apart. Hopefully this set will be retired quickly so others don’t suffer this embarrassment from Lego.
