Weak x-wing build

This is a weak x-wing build. I can't get past package 4 without the sides constantly falling apart. This design is crap.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

X-Wing Forever

This was my first serious LEGO set. As a child I had different ones but this was my first adult one. I completely enjoyed building it and I love the care for the details. Definitely worth the money.
On the negative side, I have two comments:
1) the set is not really to be played with as the model really wiggles a lot. Not only the wings feel unstable, but the nose could benefit from a stronger connection to the rest of the body. As a collector item, I suppose it is not to be played with, but I felt to comment upon it, as generally one plays with LEGO
2) the real bummer is that Luke does not fit in the cockpit. Again, as a collector item I understand why the designers wanted Luke standing on the base with the lightsaber, but I would have preferred to have been given the choice to have Luke piloting the X-wing. Instead, Luke can neither be anchored to the seat, nor can one close the cockpit with Luke inside!

Apart from these two collector item vs toy issues, the set is totally enjoyable and worth the money. The model is really impressive on display!

Not fun

I do not recommend this build. I am on my 4th attempt to build this. Every time you get close to finishing everything falls apart. Then you need to rebuild the middle in order to attempt to attach the wings again. Not sure if I will ever finish this build without it breaking.

Flimsy and easy to fall apart

This is the worst Lego experience I've had. Once you get halfway through this build, it is easily breakable with very little stability. It's very fragile and when you get to the nose, it breaks apart very easily. When that happens, you basically have to go back to square 1. As someone who is a fair weather Stars Wars fan, this was my first and last Star Wars built.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Set but meh build

This is an absolutely wonderful display set with a great exclusive minifig with pilot Luke. However the build is stressful. Esp for us adults with bigger hands at times bricks fall off all the time due to poor connection points and its hard to get everything in sync. It looks great on display but the build itself is less than optimal.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I found this build to be fun and addictive. Obviously the wing builds were a bit redundant, but that can't be helped based on the build. I loved building the X-Wing!

Very poorly designed

I've been building Lego sets pretty regularly since 1998's 5919 Treasure Tomb set. And I have to say, this is probably one of the most poorly designed sets out there.
It is impossible to get the set to stay together. Every time I touch it, it seems a different panel falls off. And the panels are difficult and a pain to put back on.
After the twentieth instance of the same panels falling off after merely gently picking the ship up, I became so frustrated with this set, that I just ended up scrapping it.
I was really looking forward to this set, and do not recall every being this let down with the quality. Especially for the price point.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Waste of Money

Horrible build. Riddled with missing pieces. Not very stable. Instructionsfor bag 8 are backwards. This is the worst build I have ever done. Whoever designed this thing really needs to be fired as fast as possible.
