Looks good, but too many issues...

Overall set looks good on the shelf, except the turbines a little bit oversized, and when ship in basic position you can see big gaps between wings and main ship part. And about horrible things: X-wing doesn't hold up at the display stand with no special modification. The function of attack position DOESN'T WORK after set was displayed some time on shelf, I tried to rebuild this set, but that didn't solve my problem and my X-wing literally doesn't work. So... this is my worst LEGO Star Wars expirience of all time!
This has to be not only the worst UCS set but the worst LEGO set I have ever purchased. The design is horrible, its flimsy, and you cannot breathe on this set without pieces falling off of it. I do LEGO for relaxation and this set did the EXACT opposite! I was on bag 10 when it fell over again for the 6th time, and I just gave up! If I could return this set, I would but I have had it for quite some time. It all went back into the box and into the closet and will probably never be put together again. JUST HORRIBLE!!!!!
Thank you Lego for addressing my complaints on this set, but due to the cost of it I must warn other hobbyists to avoid purchasing and wasting their money. This set is the worst modern Lego build design I have encountered. Don’t think of moving it or displaying it as the slightest touch will cause it to fall apart in various places especially the side panels. I threw this one away after building it 3 times (once with glue!). Both a first for me in 50 years of Lego.
I loved this build. Its a poor toy, but its a really great looking model. Way more attractive than X-wing 10240. The build was complicated enough and I thought that the model looks awesome with the side panels removed and you're left with an awesome cutaway view of an x-wing (check out the picture of cutaway view )
set has great display and okay experience. Minfigure is great on downplay with dual molded legs, and model works very well with its functions and proportions. If you’re a fan lf the originals, this is the perfect set.
I don't understand the low overall rating for this X-Wing! I found this version to be the most accurate in terms of body shape and design. I agree you must be careful with how you pick up and hold the X-Wing but this is not really made for playing with. Compared with the last USC X-Wing the new/current one is much better.
For the size, options and creative space, this model disappoints beyond what I would ever expect or imagine from Lego designers. The internal engineering and mechanisms are immature and barely functional - this is the only model I have in this genre that falls apart with the slightest touch. Wing operation is in a word, awful. I feel bad for Lego that this model made it to production when there are so many creative builders in the world who would have made this model amazing. It's currently on my wall and never to be touched. I did manage to build a very complex stand which mitigates the many areas that sag. Thought it was telling that this is the only set which has undergone a manufactures recall! Hopefully, never again.
while putting this together I noticed more parts fall off during assembly and once it was finished. It appears to be larger than USC 10240, but in reality they are about the same size. Overall is it a good build but 10240 was far better.
