The building experience was enjoyable, other than one small section where I got annoyed. It looks amazing in person once built. At the end it was money I don’t regret spending.
Not really sure why people dog this one - it’s a fantastic set. Good size, well built and fun to put together. I was really impressed with the build and how it came out. Folks that complains about weird things light “slightly off color” really need to focus more on gratitude for all that is good and be able to say “whatever”.
The wing mechanism is good and relatively smooth compared to the play sets. However, I was extremely disappointed by the fact that you can't fit a mini figure in the cockpit, despite it being massive. Also, the nose is ugly and doesn't lineup in many places. Terrible value for the price, Concord and other similar sets are a lot better for a lower price.
This set looks good once finished but the build process is beyond frustrating. Been building legos for 25+ years and this is the only set I’ve had to go back and rebuild multiple times due to a poor design causing the interior pieces to fall apart. The wings and frame are very frail and fall off with a light touch. Had to end up glueing pieces for a final result. Would not recommend this set at this price point.
Just like other folks have said it’s a miserable build experience. The parts come off way too easy. There are not great connections to the side and to the front nose of the ship. I added my own parts to make it more sturdy. I’ve built the other ucs x wing and recommend that one over this
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We’re sorry to hear you’re not happy with your LEGO® set. We’re passionate about making every LEGO toy imaginative, creative and most of all, fun. If your set seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. You’ll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together. Feel free to reach out to us at LEGO.build/Service-BV if you need assistance!
This is my first UCS set, and it really is a thing of beauty. I had no difficulties with the build, I found it overall very satisying. As is expected the wings get repetitive, and there were times during the build where components were loose and I was concerned I did something wrong…but then a few steps later you add something to secure everything up. If you’re on the fence about this set, forget it, just do it!
I can kind of see why it’s around a 3. It’s definitely a display set so the playability is low. The wings don’t collapse completely so it’s a little flawed in one display configuration and the stand limits posibility. That being said it looks great and was fun to see come together. If you want an x wing I think this is good enough
When all assembled, assuming that you can actually get all of the pieces on at the same time, the model is very good looking (which is why I gave it a second star). BUT... of the 40 or so Lego models I've built, this was by far the least enjoyable. The build was beyond frustrating; major pieces are held on by only a couple studs, when you put one piece on, something else falls off. And if you do get it assembled, DO NOT trying to move it. Simply the process of handling it causes parts to fall off. At the moment it is sitting on a table with a couple dozen miscellaneous pieces sitting next to it that fell off when moving it from one side of the room to the other. I cannot recommend this model to anyone.
