Definitely the coolest lego set I've built. As a huge Land Rover enthusiast, I really enjoyed this one. Loved having engine and body options. Also I converted the tie downs into limb risers :)
This is definitely worth the money with the amount of pieces and choices you have in engines and finished builds.
I did find putting the roof rack and bull bar together a little tiring as it uses Technic pieces to build it. One reason I got this model because I gave up on the Technic version. I made some minor modifications to the tire mounted to the hood by running the pin from the underside so if you wanted to take the tire off, you only need to remove the bushing, which I changed those up as well. I ended up mounting the jack behind the spare tire by using some leftover Technic connectors and switching the fire extinguisher and ladder to opposite sides according to the instructions. I also added a black grill and two black 1x1 45° slopes to the winch to hide the exposed knobs. I also switched the rims around to give it a more rugged, modern look. Overall, it was a good build and the attention to detail on the interior is very good.
This set is great to have. The color is very pleasant to look at, the variety of customization options is phenomenal, and the detail really puts itself right up on the list of quality sets. Low amount of stickers and easy access to the interior and engine work well in its favor. The only two things I would have liked to have seen would be a perfectly flat windscreen, and some more detail within the instructions about the history and effect the car has had on the car world.
Putting this together was a fun experience and quite different from the other creator cars I’ve built. Switching around all the options makes it endlessly entertaining to play with. It also makes an excellent display piece if you want to park it on a shelf. I already took it off road and it was a ton of fun
