This unit is as solidly built as the original Land Rover Defenders I would cruise around Nantucket Island in. It embodies the ultimate best of concept, design, and flawless execution that I have seen in a Lego set. I believe these sets combine the complexity of Technic with the fundamental appeal of traditional blocks. I have to say this could be my favorite LEGO build of all times! Kudos.
I’ve been wanting this set for a couple years but always purchase bigger sets for my son’s collection. I finally decided to treat myself and get this set as a Christmas gift to myself after a very trying year. I was so excited to open it up but never got to start building because it was missing the first piece. Literally, the very first piece in the build is missing. I can’t even start the build and I’m disappointed. More and more sets are missing pieces showing a lack in quality.
Just finished building this one. It took a while day. Had fun building it the whole time. And it looks amazing on the shelf. It also nicely fits the other models. It would be good to have more sets like this one. Maybe a Jeep.
A total of 6 pieces were missing from the seat of the vehicle and was missing the sticker sheet. Lego vehicles are some of my favorite builds but I did not enjoy this one very much.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're sorry to hear you had to put your build on hold. Thank you for your patience while waiting for your replacement parts.
Much preferred the build on this classic Land Rover to the build on the new edition Defender. The classic uses a bit of Technic to have working pieces, but layers in traditional LEGO well for the car body. The new Defender had a very tricky Technic build of the transmission that took ages, and body panels are mostly one piece of plastic
