Seeing Technic pieces was not something I wanted as I had just finished the Mercedes F1, but they turned out to be one of the things I liked best. The order of the build needs to be rearranged. Bag 1 should be bag 11 or 12. Some pieces would be much easier to add if done earlier. The windshield and roof are very annoying to align. That being said, I did enjoy the build overall. It looks really good when it is finished.
This was a great build. There are so many details going into this vehicle, it was so much fun finding out all the little things that Lego added to make it as similar as possible to the Land Rover Defender. This was my second vehicle build and it was great!
I found this set a bit challenging, I don't know if it was all the flat pieces. I also kept having pieces fall off during the build and I would have to address those along the way. This happens a lot anyways, but seemed to happen more with this set. Good Luck.
Overall this is a great set. The points where the roof rack attaches to the body could be a bit stronger. A little pressure on the rack and the attachment bricks pop off. Accessories look great! I payed little attention when purchasing and expected a follow up to the last Rover. Quickly realized this is an Icon line product so far less working components. But as far as a display, this looks far nicer!
I was excited to get this one but found the instructions lacking quite often. I have built a number of Lego vehicles but felt this one was made harder than necessary with lack of clear instruction at times. Others have mentioned issues with integrity of build and I agree. Particularly problematic for mine is the hood- it lacks structure and once the tire is added, continues to “bend” and come apart. The roof rack detaches with the least bump. Overall, I am disappointed with this model and that hurts me to say but it gives me pause on other models in this price range.
The colors are nice and the details are pretty great, but as someone else mentioned, once the fire extinguisher and spare are added on the back, you cannot open the back door easily.
All of this taken together makes me feel a bit nit-picky but I am honestly overall disappointed for the first time in a build. The end product looks nice, but the frustration lingers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Feedback from amazing builders like you helps us make our sets better. Thanks for letting us know how we make them more inspiring and fun. We’re sorry it’s not quite how you’d like it, but your feedback will help us make improvements in future sets.
Once again a great building experience, with probably most suprisingly the level of detail of the accessories. But there is one minor issue (Yes I know it´ s not a play set) but the wheels are to big for the wheel arches, therefore when you turn the wheels the car can not move because the wheels are obstructed by the archers.
Was very impressed with the suspension detail. Loved how it came with both engine options and instructions for stock and what is pictured. Overall and enjoyable and fun build.
I love this product. The engineering, the attention to detail, the color and the fact that you can build different versions of it. I wanted to give this an overall 5 rating but I could not because: - The flimsiness of the model. This is a Land Rover - supposed to be tough and durable - yet, parts kept falling off during the build and it is definitely not designed to play with; parts will fly off. I am not a novice - I have built all 4 Technic supercars - so I didn't do anything wrong. - There are many small parts in this model that are hard to handle and install. Lego provides a tool to facilitate this, but is not very useful. Better off using eyebrow tweezers.
