We have bought Lego Friends, City and Star Wars Advent Calendars for years for my 3 kids and my daughter who chose the Friends calendar this year is so disappointed and it is only day 3. She is so upset she is only building ornaments and there is nothing to play with and no Friends. I guess it is my own fault for not reading the box more carefully but why would Lego make such a drastic change. And why have they chosen to do so only with the Friends calendar? Why wouldn't the City calendar just be ornaments as well? Its seems like they are making a statement that girls just want to build crafts. This has really made the mornings a huge let down in my house every day as she watches her brother and sister open their calendars. I never would have bought this had I known.

We love it!

We absolutely love this calendar set! It's a fantastic departure from storyboard Lego calendars in the past years, where all the little pieces clutter your space for 25 days then get thrown in a box after Christmas is over. This one you actually get to use and put on your Christmas tree and enjoy year after year or give to friends as a gift. My boys love this set and so do we!

Disappointing

I picked up a LEGO City advent calendar for my son because he likes classic LEGO, and for the first time ever decided my younger daughter was ready for one too. I quickly grabbed the LEGO Friends one because she loves the show on Netflix. After I got home I looked closer at the packages. I am so disappointed that the Friends set doesn't have ANY minifigs! These are for kids and the "people" are essential to their play. Breaks my heart that the product marketed toward girls has no figures to spur their imaginative play, only little ornaments made to look pretty. I will be returning this set and I'm not sure if I will exchange for the City calendar or get her a calendar elsewhere.

Love that each day is an ornament that you can build and hang on your tree! My 5 year old loves it, and is looking forward to having these ornaments be keepers for future trees as well!

We bought this for my son not realizing that all of the builds were ornaments. This concept is awesome! We got my son a little tree for his room to hang all the ornaments on. I think this is his favorite advent calender we’ve ever done.

We have purchased all three advent (City, Friends and Star Wars) sets for many years. We always enjoy them. We are only on day four but already absolutely love this set. They can be made to give as gifts or hung on the tree, etc. next year. Best ever!!

Hi, I love my Lego Friends advent calendar even though I’m only on day 3! XD But I was slightly confused on what number 2 was. Pretty sure it’s a guitar? But I like how this one is a bit different. I’ve seen people put you could use it as a Christmas decoration, but you could, after Christmas, also super glue the bricks together and make a key ring? Thanks Lego for making such a fun thing! <3

You've got it right! Day #2 is a guitar, representing our music-loving Friend Andrea.
(As for glue, we wouldn't recommend that! It can actually make the bricks change their shape.)
