I have all of the Lego creator and technic sets and I have to say this is the worst fitting together kit I’ve have ever experienced. When folded up it just flops around gaps won’t close correctly. Try to pick it up and parts start falling off. I love Lego and will keep my collection growing but in the future I wish it were more sturdy. Cool model don’t get me wrong but probably would have been better if it were technic with more pins and beams to lock together better…. just my opinion
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If your set seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. Love it and need more G1's

Thought it was a fun build. The detail is really good and takes me back to first getting a G1 Optimus. It can be a little delicate transforming into the semi but honestly isn't bad. It's doing what it was designed to do, sit in my display cabinet along with my other transformers

An amazing collaboration

An amazing version of Optimus Prime that feels right. I got emotional while building it - two of my favorite childhood toys, Lego and Transformers, in one package. The transformation is very reminiscent of the original toy. The building of it was quick, and lots of mirrored building. It's also designed for display more than play, and that's fine. Eitherway, I'm very impressed and happy with this product.

Love this set!

As a lifetime Lego builder and childhood Transformer fan this set was a must have. If you don't transform it correctly pieces may come loose or fall off but that really comes down to user error. I had little to no issue with the transformation process when done as intended. Overall it was a satisfying build and I hope we get more Transformer sets in the future, preferably as close to scale with Optimus Prime as possible (so no 14 inch tall Bumblebee please).

Great Model and spot on likeness

Overall this set was well worth the money. The build time was great and the directions were well put together. The fun info about Optimus on each page made it worth my time to flip through the book multiple times.
The only negatives were the stickers, while there were only a few, my anxiety and OCD can’t handle it :-) . My biggest complain is the elbow joints. While posing the figure and having Ion Blaster in one hand and Energon Axe in the other, the hands fall to the side. Once posed I would adjust one and then while adjusting the other, the first would fall. Not sure if the pieces in my set are bad or if this an overall issue because of the weight of the accessories.
All in all, I love this. Would just change the elbow joint pieces to be a little tighter so they remain in place.
I would recommend this to a friend!

G1 fans rollout... the cash and buy this awesome set! in fact I'd say buy 2 or more, then keep them sealed because this is an instant collector set

Might as well be a 2-in-1 set

I like the build by itself, but the only way to transform it is by taking off multiple parts, on top of the multiple parts that will fall off on their own. It may as well have been dubbed a 2-in-1 set similar to the 3-in-1-sets with individual builds. It's that much of a chore to go from Optimus to truck. Really frustrated with it. Good luck

This is a best set I ever seen G1 Optimus Prime the fans been waiting for this a long time allowing Hasbro to do this, they need design Megatron nexts with the gun! I give it A+
