I mean, let me start off by saying this set looks beautiful when it's complete. The blue and red colors really look nice together. But, I'm a little disappointed about how the set stays together. The legs are attached on one really bad piece that always detaches from the model every time you pick it up (or transform it). Also the arms are attached by another bad piece that always falls apart in motion. Not only that but the torso comes off the spinny thing that holds it to the hip and legs. I didn't want to give this less than 4 stars because I do enjoy the set and it looks really nice built, but I wish LEGO Designers did a little bit more thinking and testing with the attachments because they are pretty bad. I do enjoy the Optimus Prime and hope for more transformers sets in the future!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thanks for letting us know how much fun you had building your new set. We’re sorry it’s not quite how you’d like it, but your feedback will help us make improvements in future sets.
It’s a great build, loved it, brought back memories! BUT, you can’t transform it without the middle falling apart. So it will stay as the robot, which is really what you buy it for anyways, but for the money, it should do as advertised without having to figure out how to put it back together again.

It's great to hear you love your Optimus Prime set. Being able to convert the set is part of the fun so feel free to reach out at LEGO.build/Service-BV so we can get some additional feedback to pass on to our design team!
I grew up watching the old transformers cartoons, and have been wanting a lego transformer series to come out for a long time, and the nostalgia was brought back after building it. I was very happy with Optimus and I hope to possibly see a Megatron or Bumblebee in the future.
My son and I really enjoyed this build, I really wish it would have had the trailer. It brought back all the great memories of the original cartoon. I also added pictures of my sons original Optimus Prime toy, and I also show the size compared to Lego Voltron.
Transforms rather easily with only the removal of accessories. Super fun build, and the accessories are great fun and well thought out. Thank you LEGO for the nostalgic and fantastic set!
I have over 100 Star Wars sets but this is the most fun I've ever had building a set. The details are spectacular and the size surprised me - I wasn't expecting it to be as big as it is. I really enjoyed the Optimus Prime facts scattered throughout the instructions. The only place I could possibly nitpick is the bumper you are supposed to swap when transforming. There is a nifty solution online where the bumper can be rotated to show the alternate version.
Please LEGO make more Transformers sets. I'll get every single one if the build quality is as good as this!
As a person who remembers watching G1 Transformers, I was excited to buy this set.
The build is very fragile. Torso and arms fall off too easily. Lego you could of done better with the design. You can build Ninjago mechs that are solid. Why couldn't you done it to this set?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
