Good build

It was fun to build and pretty easy to follow. I kind of wish the dark blue color was easier to see on the sheets but I’m sure they’re easier to see in the app.

Underwhelming

At first glance, this build is amazing. It looks like a transformer. I had fun building every individual part of Optimus. However, once it came down to putting all the pieces together, the illusion fell apart. It seems every time I would touch it, whole sections would fall off. It’s very delicate. I’m not sure if I got a defective product but the pieces don’t snap and lock in place like I’m used to. The quality of the pieces that matter most for this build feel like it’s from a dollar store knock off of LEGO bricks in my honest opinion. This is the first time I have felt like I didn’t get my money’s worth from a LEGO product. Very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If your set seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. You’ll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together. The quality of our toys is extremely important to us. Not for play - Poor build quality

The torso of the body where the legs connect to lacks any rigidity. It is next to impossible to transition the model into the two configurations offered.
Just picking it up it falls apart (80% of the time).
This is by far our most disappointing build.
The red bricks supplied IMHO are out of specification. Nothing snaps together. Bricks just lay together (no snap) . Even with the interlocking of the bricks the build still falls apart. To much slop in the fit and finish.
If I could return it I certainly would. I am just outside a reasonable return window given this was purchased before all of our family summer vacations prior to the school year.
I hope this review helps in your decision. Statically displayed the model is esthetically poor. I think fans of the Transformers Franchise would be woefully disappointed.

A nostalgic throwback

Love the look of the robot mode, very impressed with this build. Makes me feel like a kid again just looking at him.

Worst build ever - ENJOY the frustration

After many many years of building sets, I can finally say I have one that I will NOT finish, and throw in a corner to collect dust. Each piece, weighing more than it should, barely holds on to the small body. Every time one appendage in connected, three random Lego fall off. I was on bag ten, connecting the jet pack, and the entire thing just completely fell into a bunch of pieces. The WORST set.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fantastic Display Piece

Definitely a quick build, took me about 3.5 hrs. Looks fantastic on display, especially next to Voltron. Transform process is satisfying, the positioning for the blaster in truck mode is ingenious. I could do without the energon cube, the matrix of leadership is well executed and a nice touch. The background color on the manual pages makes some of the assembly challenging. Starscream should be the next subject for the Lego treatment.

I love and hate you at the same time, Lego team. I love the fact that you’ve managed to put two things that I love, one being a hobby and the other I use too watch growing up-Legos and transformers. I hate that fact that I keep underestimating that you, as a company, think you’ll run out of ideas, or fans will. I think I’ve seen everything and then this pops up on my screen. Knocked this one out of the park…again.
I didn’t have any real issues with it. The only critique I had was on the eyes of Prime. I kinda wished that there was more detail, the blue in his eyes. It signifies the Autobots as the red eyes signify the Decepticons. Other than that-great build. Keep the transformer line going.
