An amazing collaboration

An amazing version of Optimus Prime that feels right. I got emotional while building it - two of my favorite childhood toys, Lego and Transformers, in one package. The transformation is very reminiscent of the original toy. The building of it was quick, and lots of mirrored building. It's also designed for display more than play, and that's fine. Eitherway, I'm very impressed and happy with this product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My most favorite lego set

I grew up with legos and transformers and seeing both company’s make this set just made me happy and I’ve seen a lot of reviews on this set and overall I’ve seen a lot of positive reviews. I’ve seen a lot of people argue that it doesn’t have knees but as a builder who’s built alot of mechs I know that if it had knees the set would fall over due to the weight. Overall this set it awesome and I would have to recommend buying it.

Fun bit of nostalgia

The build was quite fun, and it looks great, and plays pretty well. Transforming him is a bit clumsy at first, and I've had to rebuild. The waist a few times due to my own errors.
I will also call out that there does exist a free build on rebrickable that transforms the waist/bumper onto a ball joint, making it so you don't have to take anything off. I didn't create it, but it is excellent!

Great set. But I had a miscolored pieece

I had a lot of fun with this set and its an awesome display piece. However one of the transparent window pieces in his chest came in a wrong color in the box i got (3 are transparent the other one is solid black).

Awesome Transformation!

When a Lego build has a more complex transformation than the original G1 toy, you can realize the engineering and thought that went into every detail of this build set.
I know a few people have noted little nitpicky things, but with the build scale of Lego, an exact recreation wouldn't be possible without going to a larger scale build.
My one note would be to make the knees actually bend. Overall, though, a fantastic build and a needed addition for Lego & Transformer collectors alike!

I have to say LEGO really blindsided me with this set! I am a big Star Wars and Transformers fan, so each year, I wait in anticipation for new SW sets. But when I saw this set's photos, I could not believe my eyes!
The set overall was a great build. It comes with a nice display piece with the iconic Autobot leader's name on it. And yes, the set TRANSFORMERS!!! Which is fantastic and not too difficult to do. Optimus is posable but limited; however, you can stand him in a few of his infamous poses. Honestly, I have no disgruntles about this set. I would love to get a G1 Megatron with him eventually, but I understand why it is unlikely we'll see him in the future.
Must buy for any transformers fan! I highly recommend!

As a Transformers fan, I'm very happy to see them now making lego transformers. Putting it together brought excitement to me, but I feel like the limbs could been done a bit better because the arms kept falling off when trying to adjust it. Overall, I enjoyed it and can't wait for more lego transformers.
