This appliance is poorly made. It is assembled using special screws that fall out and you cannot tighten them back because of the proprietary screw heads. So now I have a wafflemaker that falls apart every time I use it. I would return it if I had the receipt. This one is poorly made. Don't buy this one!!!

The hinges broke within a year. IMPORTANT: Otherwise, the waffle maker has been working flawlessly for 17+ years (a wedding present). It heats up quickly and produces great waffles. If it ever stops working I would buy the same WMB500 again.
The waffle maker makes great waffles but the hinges broke as soon as we got it and I wasn't expecting that. They shouldn't break anyway so that is a big flaw for me.

I have had this waffle maker for a while and absolutely love it but the hinges broke shortly after receiving it. The top of the waffle make doesn't stay up now.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Received it as a gift and was so excited to use it. Boy what a big disappointment. Doesn't heat up properly and doesn't even cook the waffles after 7 mins. I don't recommend this product at ALL

I had my waffle maker for only two months. I used it for a Mother’s Day brunch and it stopped working in the middle of making them. I am very disappointed and embarrassed.

[Employee of blackanddeckerappliances] Great Waffle Maker! Took it to my cabin and used it all weekend. I ended up leaving it up there and purchasing another one for my house. The waffles come out perfect every time!
I have another waffle iron that has a temperacure gauge, this one doesn't. It will not make the waffles crispy. Would not recommend it to anyone.
