I just took delivery f my new Travelpro Platinum Elite 21” Expandable and I'm very impressed. I compares to my previous Tumi bag in terms of features and construction, and it's is much lighter than Briggs & Riley. It's less than half the price than both of these brands so it's an incredible value.

The extendable handle is sturdy, but it takes up a lot of space inside the suitcase. The wheels glide easily on floors and I like that they can be replaced if broken, but on uneven surfaces I have to put the case on its side to prevent it from rolling away. I would suggest maybe adding brakes on at least two of the wheels. The term "expandable" is somewhat misleading. There is a zipper that allows the bottom to expand a bit, but not much. Perhaps some people pack more formal clothes, but I will probably never use the included garment bag-it takes up too much precious space. The zippers seem heavy duty and will hopefully last a long time. The two zippered pockets on the top/lid are too small to be very useful. I was able to fit a small paperback book in the larger pocket. The zippered bags inside that clip together to hold things in place are good in theory, but they can't be removed. On a recent trip they were mostly in the way. The nylon fabric exterior seems durable. I got the blue one with brown/tan trim. It looks nice and is more easily identifiable on the luggage carousel. For the price, I'm a bit disappointed.

I purchased both the carry-on and medium size of this bag. They both pull and roll very easily. Very pleased with that. The workmanship seems good, zippers sturdy, etc. I purchased the Bordeaux color, and I guess I didn't notice that the inside of the bag is more pink than I was expecting. Not a deal breaker, but in a family with all boys that's not my favorite. I liked that the color was more distinctive than the common black. I really like the garment bags on the inside and think those will come in handy for packing suits and dresses for trips. Overall I'm pleased and I hope that they'll hold up over time. The bags were more money than I've ever spent on a bag! I've found that while I like the look of hard sided luggage, I prefer the practicality of soft sided luggage.

Maximum use of interior storage space. No issues getting carry on onto international flight. Easy roll. My favorite choice for luggage.

I have used just once, but enjoy the light weight construction. I wish the handle apprentice was outside of the interior of the roller board, and hope in the future they change this similar to Briggs and Riley. So far a great replacement.
