Bought the bag based upon Wirecutter’s review. It exceeds my expectations. Handles well and fits easily into overhead bin space. Smaller than my old bag, but seems to pack better. I am very happy.

This is our 2nd Travelpro

This is our 2nd Travelpro Platinum Elite carry on. They glide seamlessly through the airport, so we decided to get a second one. We will make "hand me downs" of the old ones to our kids. As mature travelers we appreciate the ease of Travelpro Platinum Elite luggage.

Everything and more + a lot less!
A LOT LESS weight! My old Briggs & Riley tipped the scales at 12#. Great when I was 40; not so much at 75.
The Platinum elite is not only half the weight -- its spinner wheels are really effortless: no more strains pulling a bag behind me. The design is very thoughtful -- multiple handle height positions, charging via a power bank, interior finishes that make packing a cinch.
Looked at all the 'competitors', but TravelPro's reputation and lifetime warranty was hard to beat.

Professionally designed and easy to handle; by far my very best carry-on I have ever purchased. I'm truly loving it. Thank you.

I replaced a nice samsonite after buying a hardside traveler for my husband. Decided to try a softside. You have to love the wheels, and it is roomier than expected. I can stack compressed packing cubes and fit a ton of clothes along with the many pouches. These suitcases will last for a long time!!

on July 6, 2026

I purchased this suitcase for my wife. We just completed our first trip with it. It was an international trip to Zurich from Tampa in Business class followed by a River Cruise on the Rhine and Moselle rivers and returning via Frankfurt to Tampa. My wife used it with a personal bag on top.
She packed it fairly full but it rolled well over a wide variety of surfaces and held up well with no signs of use. It still looks like new. She is adjusting to the bucket style and soft sided coming from a check in Rimowa and a Carry-on Rimowa Salsa bag both of which are clam shell designs.
We were motivated to give this bag a try in large part because of TravelPro's "real try it" policy and superb warranty along with their excellent reputation with travel professionals. The construction and materials are all top quality second to none. It rolls easy and is easy to handle with three handles, top, side and bottom.
Attached are photos of the bag after our return. You can clearly see that it shows no signs of wear.
One shortcoming is the lack of a built in TSA lock in the event you are forced to gate check or decide to check it. In this price range that should be a given. Having the name/address tag hidden in the back is a plus and minus. By not having a hanging name tag the information is less likely to be taken for nefarious reasons but luggage handlers on the cruise did not know to whom the bag belonged because they are used to external hanging tags and the bus that transported us from the airport to the boat just emptied out the luggage and it was up to the crew to find the owner cabin. We had to go and say we were missing a bag and then explain where the name tag was. A minor inconvenience but something to be aware of.

Replaced another carry on that was constantly tipping over with the duffle over the handle and it didn't roll very easily. We had to make a connection on the opposite side of the terminal and it rolled like a breeze!
