Great as a drill but never worked on Low speed

I've been using this tool a lot since I purchased it but there seems to be a design flaw as I see in other comments that the Low speed (1) does not function for other people as well.

Chuck stopped engaging

Bought this for the random cases I needed to drill in tight spaces. I used it only a few times and then the check started acting up. Most of the time after I release the trigger the chuck disengages from the drive gear and I have to push it back in before it will work again.

Burned Out Within a Year

I bought this to drill in tight spaces where for normal drill would not reach. In the same vein as other reviews, this thing worked great when I was just drilling small 1/8" holes with it. As soon as the drill encountered an obstacle with a larger bit the motor smoked and smells like burning plastic. It still spins but has excessive sparking, noise, and continues to smell like burning plastic.

Dewalts Mistake

Worked great...the first time, but I only got about a half dozen uses out of this product in six months time. I am a busy electrical contractor and I bought this for the "every once in a while" tight spot to drill a hole for wiring. and it burnt up with a simple 3/4" bit. I personally love Dewalt tools, and this doesn't sway me, but wont purchase another one of these.

Got this in a combo kit. No need for it really so never used it. Went to sell it now three months later and trying it for the first time and there is a grinding noise on speed one. And cant be used because as soon as you touch the chuck it makes a plastic grinding noise and the chuck stops spinning but the motor keeps going. So it cant be used on speed one. Speed two works fine.

Non-durable

I bought this two weeks ago to use on wiring a new house. It worked fine drilling one inch holes through the webs of i-joists, but stalled drilling through a sill plate. Unfortunately, once it stalls the stall current smoked the motor before I managed to get off the trigger. It's dead now after about ten minutes total operation.

Waste of money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve went through two of these right angle drills now. First drill was a disappointment and didn’t last long, motor burnt up after a few times using it. Ordered my second one in June (hoping DeWalt had upgraded the motor), burnt up on the first day of using it. I was using a 5/8 Diablo paddle bit, started getting hot after a short time using it, and then the motor burnt up. Before the two DeWalt angle drills, I had a Ryobi angle drill, and it literally outlasted both of these. I’d hoped I had just gotten a bad one on the first one I bought, but obviously not. Would not purchase this drill until DeWalt comes out with a better version.
