The lock uses a motorless, keypad-driven mechanism, which removes reliance on batteries for the actual locking action—reducing a common failure point seen in electronic locks. The manual turn from the keypad side provides consistent bolt engagement, which is important for reliability over time.
From an access control standpoint, the ability to program and delete user codes is a practical advantage. It allows controlled, temporary access (contractors, guests) without rekeying the lock. Code changes are straightforward, which lowers the friction of maintaining good security hygiene.
The keypad itself is responsive and does not require excessive force or multiple inputs, reducing the likelihood of input errors. While this model does not include smart connectivity (no Wi-Fi/Bluetooth), that is a tradeoff: fewer remote features, but also a smaller attack surface—no network exposure or firmware vulnerabilities.
Build quality appears durable. The deadbolt engages cleanly into the strike plate, which is critical—most lock failures happen at the door frame, not the lock. When paired with longer strike plate screws and a reinforced door frame, this setup provides meaningful resistance against forced entry.

So Easy to install and set up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! The Camelot trim keypad deadbolt was super easy to install. We replaced a deadbolt lock/key with this and it was very easy to set up. I like it has both a key and code option. Our short term rental is secure and easy to reset codes!
