[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed this great Wi-Fi deadbolt myself in about 15 minutes. Sent personal codes to my brother and my kids. I’ve already used it to let contractors in the house. I I get a message of who entered the house, and when they left. Schlage, let me know that the door is locked. I. should’ve done this years ago. No more hiding keys under rocks.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The smart features of this lock are stellar: point your iPhone at it or ask Siri to unlock the door at it delivers! But the keypad has a few serious drawbacks. 1. The lock and unlock symbols are low contrast visually, and hard to differentiate, day or night. 2. The keypad is dark, and you can’t see the numbers until the backlight turns on. [The only obvious and easy to see symbol is the (( )) symbol, which is also the number 5.] And unless you hit the unlock or lock button precisely, it enters whatever number your finger is near as the first digit in your code, which messes it up. And many people intuitively tap the (( )) symbol, which enters the number 5. Luckily, these problems could be solved with a firmware update! Schlage, please make it so that there is an option is settings called “First Keypad Touch Wakes Screen” which would mean that if a user touches anywhere in the screen, it wakes the screen and illuminates it without counting as the first digit of the code.
It would also be nice if future versions of the lock have icons for lock and unlock that are easier to differentiate, and higher contrast for easier visibility.
But a firmware fix would solve the most serious issues and make the lock much easier for older or non-techie family members to use. Simply add the option in settings to make the first touch of the keypad wake and illuminate (without counting as the first number of the code) and the lock immediately becomes a 5 star product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We installed the lock about 4 weeks ago. The directions and app were a cinch to follow. We like the features and ease of changing the code. It is a tad expensive but I am hoping it lasts a good while.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality and easy of installation, is by far the most superior brand and lock that I have installed. The weight and the little ingenuity on the bolt itself. The edge of the bolt is shaved to allow for the bolt to grab the key hole with easy and as it goes in pulls the door even closer to the door jam. They have safety mechanism in which it can detect tampering and the one time use keys that you can assign. Every function of this lock has been well thought out.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far this has been great for my family. I live that I get notifications every time the door locks or unlocks, I also love that it tells me who unlocks it from the outside. The app has been great, and I love that it can be set to lock after a certain amount of minutes.
