Great Lock, But Step 7 “Screws” the Installation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] installed the Schlage Encode Deadbolt Camelot recently, and overall, it’s a smooth, user-friendly process. The instructions are clear, the components fit well, and the quick start guide walks you through without confusion—up until Step 7.
That’s where the fun ends. The two screws provided to secure the lock to the door are simply too short to do the job. No amount of adjusting or coaxing made them work. In the end, I had to make a trip to the hardware store and buy 10x1 flat Phillips sheet metal screws to get the lock firmly attached.
Once that hiccup was solved, everything else fell into place, and the lock has been working perfectly since. But it’s baffling that such a well-designed product could be tripped up by something as basic as screw length. Hopefully, Schlage takes note and makes this easy fix in future production runs—because otherwise, this is an excellent deadbolt that deserves a cleaner finish to the installation experience.

Harder than I thought to install but works great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This took me, my husband m, and his friend about 2 hours to complete install and they are both super handy. The instructions were good but getting the adjustments and fit just right were hard as was tightening down the back plate screws for a secure installation. However once it was installed I had it connected through the Schlage app, Alexa, and Ring app in under 10 minutes. It’s awesome to be able to operate the door using Alexa voice control or from anywhere with any of those apps. It also looks really nice and was an upgrade the the existing hardware as far as look and finish. Also upgraded the regular knob to a door handle matching the smart deadbolt which really adds to the upgraded look of the front door.

Guests love the convenience of keyless entry, and I no longer have to coordinate key handoffs or worry about lost keys. I can easily set unique codes for each booking, which improves security and streamlines check-in. The time saved and the professional impression it gives my property have made it a worthwhile investment that’s boosted both guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
The code and WiFi connection is consistent unlike the Yale brand we moved from. I highly recommend

Great product
