[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Schlage Encode stands guard like an old friend who never sleeps. It is a good lock. A true lock. The kind that lets a man know his home is secure when the night comes. No more fumbling with keys in the dark or wondering if the door was left unlocked. Now I assign codes—simple numbers—to my family, the cleaning people, and guests who come to stay. The lock remembers them all and tells me who has come and gone. This is a fine thing for a man to know.
The weight has lifted. The burden of worry about my daughter coming home after dark, about doors left unlocked, about keys lost in the rain—all gone now. I can lock the door from anywhere with my phone, or the door locks itself after a timer I have set. It is a simple machine that gives complicated peace. The door is locked. The house is safe. The family is accounted for. What more could a man ask for? The Schlage has given me back time and taken away fear. That is what a good tool does. That is everything.
