It delivers excellent smart-home compatibility (especially in Apple’s world), good security credentials and a trusted brand behind it. The downsides—price, some keypad/usability quirks, occasional connectivity/battery concerns—are real but may be worth them depending on your use case.

It supports WiFi out of the box (no hub needed), allows you to remotely lock/unlock, manage up to 100 unique access codes, view a time-stamped activity log, and create scheduled access for guests. Installation is reasonably straightforward, and it carries a top residential security rating (ANSI Grade 1) for added peace of mind. On the flip side, it lacks automatic geofencing unlock (so you still need a manual action when arriving), and the interior housing is somewhat bulky compared to simpler locks.

I'm an electrical contractor and I've recommended it. In fact, last week I installed 40 Scalage Encode Plus units and my clients are very satisfied.

I now know why I can do everything on the app and if I feel like I left without locking the door I can check and lock it right through there I always know my wife is safe at home when the door is locked she falls asleep all the time without locking the door and it always bothers me now I can know for sure she is safe. My plan is to pay it forward since she got me one I plan on getting someone I care about one as well thank you Schlage for making my family safer!
