[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this deadbolt for our front door... I got tired of being locked out and wanted an easy way to get in my house. It turned out this lock has saved us a number of times. It is super easy to add access codes through an app on your phone or lock and unlock the door. Their logs to see which code is being used so you know who is coming and going.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The install was fantastic but I need to learn more about it so I am getting the full use of all the features. Getting a few codes set was very easy, as was hooking it up to the alexa. Once in a while the alexa says the lock is not responding when I tell it to lock, but then it locks anyway. I like receiving notifications on my phone that the door is being locked or unlocked during the day. Now I need to learn more of how I can unlock it remotely with my phone.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this moving into a new home in a new area. My child is now walking to school after I leave for work. I can make sure the door is locked from anywhere. And lock it from anywhere if it isn't. Peace of mind worth the price.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took me way too long to get a hold of the Encode Plus in Matte Black Century trim. It was sold out for ages, online and in-store, and for good reason. You can always trust Schlage to produce quality products, they are the gold standard. Sure, I could’ve gotten a regular Encode lock, but I held out for the Encode Plus because I wanted to integrate my entryway into my HomeKit ecosystem. Installation of the hardware was super easy. The only complaint I had was setting up the software. For some reason, it had a really tough time connecting to my WiFi network, and I still don’t have the lock officially set up in MyHome App because it overrides my Schlage account setup (ie, the lock codes get messed up and I had to restart the whole process again, multiple times). Super frustrating but I’ve just accepted that I’ll only access the lock settings as Admin role via the Schlage app instead of Apple HomeKit. That’s an acceptable trade off for a reliable lock.
