Great lock!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this lock and have put them on all of my Airbnb’s. I highly recommend them and the battery lasts a very long time. The app even gives you how much voltage is left on the battery which is very helpful. The only thing I can think of that needs improving would be a motion sensor light up keypad that allows the keypad to light up before you hit the numbers so that you can see where you’re pressing the numbers in the dark.
Another helpful feature, is the locked app allows you to send a pre written message to your guests. It would be wonderful if I could edit the message in the app so that I do not have to edit the message every single time. A prewritten message would be amazing!
Overall, I give this lock five stars

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a door that doesn’t have the traditional deadbolt in the center. Instead it has a multipoint lock mechanism which requires you to trick the Schlage lock during install to get it to lock the door when it says it’s locking it.

Excellent Smart Lock!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently installed the Schlage Encode Smart WiFi Deadbolt, and it has exceeded every expectation. The setup was surprisingly simple and the app is incredibly user-friendly, allowing me to lock or unlock the door from anywhere, check the status, and receive real-time notifications.
One of my favorite features is the ability to create unique access codes for family and guests. It’s nice not having to hide a spare key and the codes are easy to add or delete instantly, which gives me a huge sense of control and security.
Overall, the Schlage Encode has brought both convenience and extra peace of mind to my home.

Greatest Smart Lock Ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In the endeavor to make my smart home as user friendly as possible I have been installing and removing hardware. The door lock was an area I did not give much planning to. The first door lock I installed worked but I felt I could do better with a better lock. Honestly I held off purchasing the Encode because of the price. The second lock I installed was a highly rated lock on the smart home groups online. It was a significant step up from the “cheaper” first lock. Everything was working as it should but at the end of the day I really wanted to open the door with my Apple Watch and iPhone Once I purchased Apple home pods and saw how easy HomeKit is to use versus “lady A” I knew I had to have this option on my lock.
Side note here, I did not get this lock at a discount. I paid full price for this thing which is what I was trying to avoid the whole time and the reason I bought two additional locks before just doing it.
Okay so back to the lock. Installation was the easiest of all the locks. Pairing to the app and HomeKit were ridiculously easy. The speed this lock opens and closes is incredible. Who would think the speed of your smart lock is something you need to consider? The cheap first lock I installed was actually slow enough that more than a few times I pulled the door during its bolt retraction process and this caused an error and the door would relock. This is the main reason I changed it out for the second lock. The Encode is very fast. How fast? From the time I hold my IPhone or watch to the lock and remove it to turn the knob, the door is unlocked. The lock is also very quiet. The motor is audible but not obnoxious. One thing about the two previous locks was if I tightened the mounting plate bolts as tight as they would go the deadbolt would struggle to move through cycle. This was the case with both of them. The issue with not tightening the mounting plate completely is the lock will twist on the door. Not much but enough it has to be repositioned every now and then. The Encode was able to be tightened all the way and feels much more solid then the previous locks.
Would I recommend this lock? 100% yes. The saying “cry once, buy once” is definitely something you need to do with smart home projects. I really did not want to spend the money on the door lock, but in the end I am happy with my purchase. I have recommended this lock to everyone that has come to the house and seen it in action.
